Ginger Salmon

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2007
quick, easy, devoured by all ages 1-35, boys and girls, hubby too. would serve to guests. used fresh ginger and based on previous reviews upped amount to 1 TBSP. also doubled sauce to use up remainder of mustard jar. all sauce got soaked up with whatever people could find to get it off their plates. yum yum.

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2006
My family loved this and I liked it, too. I used chicken breasts (on bone with skin removed) and after 4 hours they were perfect. I substituted a healthy amount of chopped candied ginger for the fresh with good results. i didn't have other reviewers issue of one flavor overpowering the rest. Flavors are strong, but well balanced. Thank you for a great crock pot recipe that doesn't require cream soups from a can!

Easy Crab Linguine

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2005
This is a deceptively simply basic recipe with lots of potential! After reading other reviews I tried some additions to "up" the flavor. I browned 4 oz of bacon with the onion, then added some fresh spinach at the end with a can of real crab. Altogether it was a hit with adults and kids alike, one of whom is an Italian exchange student! Buon Appetito!

Very Berry Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2005
yum. yum. yum. used one substitution--boysenberry preserves rather than what was called for 'cause its what i had on hand. even my 2 year old asked for seconds. pork was tender, still juicy, flavorful. best of all, its really FAST.

Singapore Noodles

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2005
This is an "exotic" and quick weekday meal that makes great use of leftovers (i substituted last nights pork tenderloin) and is a hit, even with my preschooler and toddler. Happy eating!

Pastitsio II

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2005
The flavor of this recipe is perfect and absolutely worth the effort! My kids even gobbled it up and labeled it "yum." Next time I will thicken the beschamel only a bit (or add a little more milk), as I think the final pasticcio cooked up a bit dry this time. Thanks for a great recipe!

Eva's Savory Turkey Legs

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2005
Thanks Charles' grandma! This is indeed a tasty, easy and inexpensive recipe. Even when I added a step (sauteed veg for stuffing before mixing with breadcrumbs) it still only took 30 minutes to prepare and then was unwatched in the oven. I did remove the skin from the turkey legs but they were still moist and delicious. Even my meat-avoiding preschoolers gobbled this up--not to mention my husband who nearly sucked the bones dry!

Greek Chicken Pitas

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2005
This was easy to make and a hit with my family, ages 1, 4 and 35. I liked it too. I used chic thighs. I didn't have lemon pepper either so I added salt and pepper to the spice mixture and then added a bit of lemon juice (bottled) to the crock pot before cooking. after 5 hours on low (instead of 6 on high), it was super tender, not dry and perfect for gyros. yummy.
