Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2012
Very light and tasty. I finely diced the strawberries and used cultured cream cheese. Then whipped it up in the mixer. This time I omitted the sugar because we ate it with stuffed french toast. Yummy!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2008
These are as good as the Double Tree cookie recipe. I ate to many. I will be making these again the next time the kids ask for chocolate chip cookies.

One Dish Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2008
My friend brought this dish over a couple of years ago and it was so good. Easy too. Sometimes she puts mozzarella cheese on top of the chicken under the stuffing. Mine never came out as good as hers so I was glad to finally find it listed here. Adding the water and butter to the stuffing is what I was missing. Thanks!

Beef with Ramen Noodles

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2008
Very yummy. Even my kids ate it. I made it again and used chicken flavored ramen, left over rotisserie chicken, sliced onions, chopped broccoli, carrots and celery.

German Pancake

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
The dh raved and raved about the syrup. He is extremely picky when it comes to condiments. He did not think it was possible to make great tasteing homemade syrup and was pleasantly shocked. The german pancake recipe is one we have used for years. I sometimes put butter, lemon juice and powder sugar on top of the pancake when it comes out of the oven. It is good with syrup or yogurt and I have even cooked it with bacon, mushrooms and cheese.

Busy-Day Dinner

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
This dish is a little too much tomato flavor for me. There is something missing. But it is fast and easy and the kids liked it.

Golden Peach Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
These were so yummy. My husband loved them and he does not like peaches. I took some suggestions from the previous reviews. I added 1 tbsp of the peach juice to the egg mixture. I cut the peaches little bigger than a pea and tossed them in with the flour mixture stirring to coat. I was going to top them with a pecan or two before cooking but forgot. I cooked them for 25 mins and they were slightly over cooked. But still tasted great.

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2007
I made these for my three and two year old and our two twenty something newphews who were visiting. The kids have become picky eaters lately so I was a bit nervous, but everyone enjoyed them. I added chopped pecans to the batter. The batter was really thick. Did not matter they came out nice a fluffy with a pleasant flavor.

Potato Soup V

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2007
This was good but there is a recipe I tried last fall that was better. Only I have no clue what recipe I used. If you have never tried potato soup before this is a good one to start with. It is very creamy. Good flavor.

Easy Honey Mustard Mozzarella Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2007
Great recipe. Even the kids who were skeptical ate every bit. I sliced the chicken in half lengthwise to make thinner fillets. Then I rolled them and wrapped each one with bacon and secured with a toothpick. I seasoned with black pepper and after I mixed the honey and dijon mustard together I pour it over the chicken. Since I used thinner pieces of chicken I did not cook it as long. Turned out so yummy. Thanks!

Best Peanut Butter Cookies Ever

Reviewed: May 23, 2007
I was a little hesitant trying this recipe. I was affraid it would turn out something like the Peanut Butter Playdough from grade school. To my surprise and the delight of the hubby and kids this recipe produced a delicious cookie. We liked best that the cookie stayed moist and tender, even the batch that I slightly over cooked. No dry floury mess. This is definately a keeper.

Quick Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2007
I love how easy this is. I did not knead for 5 mins and since I only had all-purpose flour I had to add salt and powder. The dough was a bit dry so i added another tbsp of cream. But I was not precise when measuring my flour so I could have added too much flour. They tasted great, especially with butter and honey. This is my new biscuit recipe. Thanks!

I was looking for a recipe to use some left over pot roast. The family loved it. My son is not a big meat eater but he downed his whole plate.

Plum Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2006
This pie was more like a tart or streusel or even a shortcake with the cake-like crust. My family favored the cake the best. On the results page for this Plum Pie the description mentioned there was sour cream and heavy cream in the recipe. I wonder if those ingredients were left out because they are not listed in the recipe's ingredients. That would make a difference in the crust giving it more flavor and a moist texture. I thought the lemon was added a nice flavor to the dish. I put a pinch extra in the cake. There is enough dough for two pies so we made one with plums and the other apple.

Crazy Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2006
I made this cake because I was out of butter, milk and eggs. It is a perfect pantry staple recipe. My son and I tried it while it was warm and were not impressed. The taste was bland and the texture was not very moist. Per a comment below we covered it up and let it sit all day until after dinner. Sure enough it had a nice chocolate flavor and was very moist. We are not big sweet eaters so we did not put any frosting on the cake and it was perfect. But I can see this being a very versatile cake. You could use it for cupcakes, muffins with chocolate chips and german chocolate cake. Next time I cook it with kids we will do it in a bowl. The pan method was pretty messy, but we all had fun.

Springtime Spinach Salad

I was short on ingredients so I had to use Balsamic vinegar and Dijon mustard. It still tasted fine. The salad was devoured so the family must have liked it too.
