Yellow Squash

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2011
So good! I had never cooked squash before, and this was simple and tasty. I used turkey bacon and butter flavored non-stick spray. I also used jarred jalapenos because I didn't have fresh. The squash turned out spicy and delicious! This will be my go-to recipe for cooking squash!

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2011
I marinated 3 pork chops (bone in) in the full amount of sauce for about 6 hours before we cooked them on the grill. We seared them on both sides over high heat before moving them to the cooler side of the grill to finish cooking. We poured the extra marinade over the chops as they were cooking. A++ AMAZING!! Next time I may add some cayenne pepper to spice it up a bit :)

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: May 27, 2011
I was looking for a chicken recipe for some chicken burritos and came across this one. It really couldn't have worked out better! I replaced the oregano with fresh cilantro (duh!) and pretty much followed all other directions exactly. Highly recommend, very tasty and different!

Perfect! We cut back on the sugar a little and used frozen strawberries so we didn't need ice. Yummy yummy!

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2011
This was super easy and yummy! I seasoned the pork chops with salt/pepper/garlic, seared both sides on the stove, and then baked them at 350 for 45 minutes with 2x sauce on top. My boyfriend loved them!

Banana Oat Muffins

Delicious, and easily modified. I used applesauce instead of oil, and they turned out great! It cut the calories down to 143 per muffin! I will make these again, thanks for the recipe!

Absolutely delicious! I had to increase the cook time a bit, but other than that I followed the recipe exactly. Thanks for the recipe.

Creamy Carrot Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
This is a very good recipe, but not a five star without some revisions. For a five star recipe, I revised as follows: as most others, I added coconut milk instead of cream. I also did not discard the broth! That would be incredibly wasteful of the nutrients in the veggies! I did not have any fresh dill, so I added a little dried. I used about half of a medium onion and added 2 cloves of garlic. I also added 1/2 teaspoon each of curry powder and cayenne pepper. The results were spicy and tasty! Other than the above revisions, I followed the recipe. Thanks for posting, I will be making this again.

Mom's Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
I really enjoyed this because it was easy and tasty. We just made a couple changes: we added extra onion, garlic, and worcestershire to the meat, and used less sugar and more worcestershire in the sauce.

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2011
Very good and easy! I made this with Jasmine rice, and I added 1tsp chili powder. As other reviewers have said, the rice doesn't puff but does brown. I will try this next time with brown rice (I am currently on a health food kick!)

Tasty and healthy with great flavors-- I think instead of baking the beans I will just heat them on the stove next time (less time and easier cleanup!) Thanks for the recipe!

Tzatziki Sauce (Yogurt and Cucumber Dip)

I really want to give this 5 stars! I just didn't like it as much as store bought. I ended up using most of this as a face mask instead of eating it! It made my skin so soft..:)

Zucchini Parmesan

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2011
I'm rating 4 stars for the recipe as is. With my adjustments, it's 5 stars for sure! I saute 1 large onion and a few cloves of garlic with 3 links of turkey sausage cut up to bite size. When the sausage is almost done cooking, I add the zucchini and saute for a few minutes. I drain the water/fat off and pour into a casserole dish. Top with jarred sauce and cheese and bake. It easily serves 6 for 205 calories per serving :) No need for pasta!

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2011
I had high hopes for these... unfortunately they didn't deliver. They held together fine and looked amazing, but the texture of the cooked burger was mushy and not very appetizing. I don't think I'll make these again. Too much work for meh taste.

Authentic German Potato Salad

I followed directions exactly except I added some celery seed. It was only ok. I think it needs some flour to thicken up the mix. I will find a different recipe next time.
