About this Cook
I have been married for 11 years and we have 3 boys and 1 girl. I am currently trying to lose the baby weight and am looking for healthy recipes. I love cooking, but I don't like spending all day doing it. My kids love to help in the kitchen too so we are always on here looking for 'kid-friendly' recipes.
My favorite things to cook
I like to bake, especially cookies. I like making bread, but I would rather do quick breads because they are, well.....quicker!! We have dinner as a family at least 5 nights a week. So, I am constantly looking for something new and exciting to cook for dinner. My family is great at being the guinea pigs!! I love the rating system on this website. I really only make the recipes that are at least 4 stars and I know it will be great! And they usually are!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holidays are always a traditional time for us. We make a lot of the same recipes at certain holidays. If they aren't made, somebody gets mad!!
My cooking triumphs
Anytime I can get my kids to eat veggies without giving them a glass of milk to wash it down with!!
My cooking tragedies
Don't really have any. I see myself as a pretty good cook with the knowledge to know if a recipe will be good or not before I make it. Pictures always help too!

Chocolate Popcorn
I made this tonight & it was really good. It kind of tastes like coco puffs.... I cut the butter to 1/4 c & used 1/4 c. brown sugar & 1/2 c white sugar. Boiled for 3 min & added 1/2 t. baking soda before tossing with popcorn. I only had to bake it 15 min..I think because I let it boil longer. Was yummy & crispy!

Peanut Butter Popcorn
We loved this recipe, but you MUST bake it for 20 minutes at 250 degrees, stirring 3 or 4 times. Then, it is crunchy & delicious!!

Basil and Sun-Dried Tomato Dip
This is so good! I spread it on panini sandwiches with grilled chicken & provolone cheese! Yummy! Mixed it all in my mini food processor. We also didn't let it sit for an hour. We served it right away & it was awesome!
