Mandarin Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2006
My husband liked this and it was easy to make, so I will give it a 4. To me, it was more a 3. I agree with other reviewers, this recipe is just ok.

I thought this was very good. I added a ham hock and cooked it about an hour longer.

This is sooo good! It reminds me of the chorizo that my great grandmother use to make.

This was not impressive. For a recipe rated a 5 I was very disappointed.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2006
WOW this is awesome! I broiled salmon instead of tilapia and it was yummy! I won't cook fish any other way. I have also cut the butter in half, added garlic, italian seasonings and spread on french bread and popped in the toaster oven. Served with tomato sauce for a snack. This recipe is a keeper!

Pineapple Pudding Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2005
Very dry. Texture and taste is more similar to a coffee cake. As a birthday cake, not sweet enough for my taste.

Herbed Cheese Puffs

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2005
I loved these, but my husband didn't. It was the biscuits that he didn't like. Said they were too buttery with all the cheese. Next time I will try a different biscuit. Thanks!!

Ronaldo's Beef Carnitas

This was really good and easy to prepare. I put it in the crock pot and made tostados one evening and the next morning put the left overs (not much left)in a breakfast burrito. Thanks!!

Breakfast Casserole II

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2005
A little too bland for my tastes as is. Took a lot longer to cook. It's a good recipe to start from, but you will need to add to it, depending on what your tastes are. We added bacon, bell pepper, fresh mushrooms and instead of potato rounds added southern hashbrowns. I think I will keep looking for a better breakfast casserole.

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2005
WOW!! Went veggie with this one and substituted the ground beef for sauted mushrooms. Served as a side dish with pork roast. The peppers were not overpowering, you tasted every ingredient. What a terrific recipe!

Vini's Pork Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2005
Too salty. Next time I will cut back on the salt and the cornstarch. The gravy needed something....maybe some garlic powder? Good recipe with some minor adjustments.

After taking a bite, the first words out of my husbands mouth were 'this deserves five stars'. He knows I live on this website! This recipe is so easy, and after the marinade it takes no time to cook. Thanks!

Alaskan Salmon Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2005
Wow! I added mushrooms and red peppers and 2% milk. I also used 2 packets of salmon so I didn't have to bother with picking out the bones. The soup was amazing. My husband said it was better than any 5 star restaurants' soup. We had this soup 2 nights in a row and it was even better the second night. I served it with corn bread and a strawberry, kiwi, spinach salad (recipe on this site). The whole meal looked so elegant and it was so easy. Next time I will add fresh scallops with the salmon.

Smelled great while cooking. I had a lot of egg and flour mixture left over. Next time I will half both. I also browned before baking, which made a nice crispy crust. Thanks Jim!
