Crescent Chicken Bundles

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2013
Recipe is so good and kid-friendly! BUT the only problem is the quantities. I actually HALFED the ingredients and it still made so much that I had to break out a 2nd can of canned biscuits. I didn't have a 2nd can of croissants. Interestingly, the ones done with biscuit dough were a hit too and they stayed together a little better. So, if I was giving advice, I'd say do 1/2 the ingredients but just know they WILL be enough for 2 cans of croissants (or more). This was delicious and a big hit. GREAT way to sneak some veggies in as well!!

Family's Creamed Spinach

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2012
This was my first attempt & my husband raved over it!! Even my 2 year old ate some. I would've given 5 stars but as others pointed out, this recipe needing some tweaks to make it perfect. The only things I would change are: 1) reduce the amount of margarine as it was a bit over powering, 2) add a little Worcestershire & red pepper flakes as folks here have recommended and 3) use crushed ritz crackers instead of bread crumbs on top. I also baked this for 18 mins on 350 degrees.

Morning Glory Muffins I

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
These muffins are so delicious you almost forget they are healthy! The first time, we did the recipe EXACTLY & they turned out beautifully. The 2nd time, my husband did 50% wheat flour/ 50% all purpose and substituted applesauce for the apple butter to make it even healthier. They didn't turn out well. :( I think it was the applesauce, not the difference in wheat flour that did it. That was just our experience though. Others seem to have done the applesauce substitute just fine! I will say, it definitely takes more than the 15 minutes prep time advertised for these. It's more like 30 minutes prep time.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
This was yummy! I would recommend perhaps cutting the amount of onion soup mix. The taste of onion was almost overpowering and it made the whole house smell like onions. My husband isn't a big onion person but I figured it would be ok since it's just the soup mix, not raw onions. Boy was I wrong. He said all he could taste was onion flavor. BUT I liked it so that's why I gave it 4 stars. It's a good dish, just not for anyone who remotely dislikes onion.

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
This was a great recipe. I put chicken and cut up asparagus in it instead of shrimp. My husband said it tasted like a dish he had at the Olive Garden one time. So that's good! Everyone on here is right. The sauce is WAY too thick. I added at least 1-1/2 cups of the pasta water to thin it and it was still pretty thick. My husband said it would be even better with some of the cut up generic Mexican block cheese he loves so much. It's like Velveeta but it's a white block of cheese with peppers in it.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
This was great! Be warned that throughout the process, you'll keep thinking to yourself "it's too liquidy..it'll never bake down!" Don't mess with it! :) I kept thinking it wouldn't thicken up but it turned out perfectly. The key is to let it sit after baking for about 5 minutes to thicken up. It was the perfect consistency, cheesiness & yumminess! My husband is purely a baked potato guy. He hates mashed potatoes & thought this concoction would be too much like that but he loved it! I highly recommend this recipe.

Sweet Potato Oranges

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2008
I made these last Christmas and they turned out great. They have a big "wow" factor too because of presentation. It's a great way to serve a traditional dish with a little pizzaz!

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2008
This tasted great and my husband raved. Next time, I'll definitely add more veggies than this recipe calls for however. I added mushrooms & snow peas but it still needed more. This is a wonderful dish though!

Grandma's Pork Chops in Mushroom Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
I agree with everyone on here who said to CUT THE COOKING TIME. I wish I had listened. The pork chops turned out very rough & dry even though they had cooked in a delightful sauce. I couldn't believe how dry they were. The sauce itself is wonderful. Next time, I will definitely cook the pork chops for less time and see what happens.

Stuffed Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
This recipe was Ok but both my husband and I felt it was a bit bland. The stuffing needed something. I'm not sure what but it just didn't have any oompf!

Chicken Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2007
This was so yummy! Very easy comfort food. I would not put nearly as much chicken broth next time. I had to scoop some out because it was just too liquidy. I also added a layer of cheese on top then a layer of crushed up Ritz crackers. It was great and so easy.

Broccoli Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2007
This is a great, easy weeknight meal. My husband isn't big on casseroles and he loved it. I crushed up cheese nip crackers and spread them over the top. That extra cheese taste was great! I will definitely make this again!

Stuffed Pork Chops with Gorgonzola and Apple

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2007
This recipe is really easy and so incredibly good. My husband is a pizza kind of guy and he LOVED it! He even said it would be good to add into our weekly routine. That's saying something! I did it the first time with blue cheese crumbles and it tasted great. I've done it with gorgonzola as well and it tasted pretty much the same. Great recipe!!

Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole

Reviewed: May 23, 2006
This was a big hit. Very easy & delicious! A little salty. I would recommend putting only 3/4 of the seasoning packet from the wild rice in to cut down on the salt.
