Prime Rib

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2011
Just a thought....some people get confused when cooking a smaller roast with the 5 min/pound rule...that rule is for the 500 degree cooking part only, you then have to continue to cook it for 90 minutes after shutting temperature/heat off, in an oven that you NEVER open. Use an oven safe meat thermometer or your oven probe.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
I used chicken bouillon granules in packets. Recipe calls for 2 Tablespoons, which is 6 packets since one packet is a teaspoon. I went with it...It ruined the recipe. Should the recipe read 2 teaspoons? 2 cubes? 2 packets?

Pancakes I

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
I followed the tips from this site for perfect pancakes and did not beat the batter....gently mixing instead and letting it rest... and maybe that was the problem. Batter was runny and pancakes were flat, completely the opposite of what I was looking for. The flavor wasn't there either.

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2007
Tip: 2 cans pumpkin should equal the 3 cups you need. I added finely chopped pecans to one loaf and it was very good.

Really easy and delicious. We make this for guests and ourselves all the time! Get fresh shrimp and have them peel and devein it for you, my fish market does it at no extra cost. Saves me an hour!

Potato Casserole

Absolutely one of my favorite splurge sides. Perfect for potlucks. Great with baked ham. Cornflakes are the best topping, but I have used Ritz crackers and breadcrumbs.

EASY and a real crowd pleaser. Several people asked for this recipe. These really look nice if you can find the mini tart/cupcake papers to use.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
I had to add almost an extra cup of flour because this dough was very sticky. With the extra flour the cookies tasted a little bland but rolled well and held their shape beautifully. Once decorated with icing the kids loved them. For little ones: pick up a few squeeze bottles from candy making section of craft store and put royal icing in them in assorted colors so children can decorate with ease!

Nice cookie for the press. Watch them closely, the bottoms brown up quickly. The taste is buttery. The texture is light. I would make these again.

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2006
A really tasty gingerbread cookie. I have tried many recipies including those real ones with black pepper and this is the best. Just the right amount of spice. I've made it with crisco instead of margarine and that works well too!
