Melt In Your Mouth Toffee

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2012
according to one reveiwer, I added 3 TBS each water and corn syrup to the HALVED RECIPE-mind you that his calculations for 1 1/4c brown sugar were spot on- adding them along with the rest of the ingredients, made for an addictive recipe! THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!! Everyone is mad at me for making them fat, but I never thought I'd be good at making candy so I keep making it!!!

Coconut Macaroons III

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
They were a hit! "These are suspiciously simple to make...", I thought to myself as I made them. Maybe it was the lack of ingredients, since I'm used to a laundry list for the contents of anything I bake ever! But I digress... This really is the best macaroon recipe! I got lotsa compliments on them, and I recommend trying it!

Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
Awesome! I did as other reviewers did and decreased the flour to about 2 cups and increased the PB to almost 1 cup. I sell my baked goodies for extra cash and these are one of the top sellers! I added toffee bits instead of choco chips. ***My big secret to successful cookies: ALWAYS substitute 1/2 the ammount of butter called for in any recipe with shortening!!*** This makes them lighter and puff up more while still having the richness from the butter. Also, ALWAYS chill dough first to keep from spreading too much!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2008
As other reviewers have said, the baking times are a bit off. Also, I substitute some brown sugar for the white, which may be the reason for that(?). The batter makes much more than I thought, and the cooking time takes longer than stated-maybe 1 1/2 hrs, but TOTALLY WORTH IT!! I give myself a pat on the back for very few things, one of them being my baking and cooking capabilities(almost to a point of arrogance!). I sell my baked goodies at work and this, along with "moms zucchini bread", have given me a new regular! She wants 2 loaves of each every week! One to share with others at work and the rest for her and her son. Everyone at work raves about it! Thank you for this recipe!!

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: May 24, 2008
I substituted 1/4c of oil with applesauce to make it a bit more "healthy", and everyone who has tried it said it's by far THE BEST carrot cake they've ever had! I plan on submitting it in this year's Barnstable county fair...I'd keep my fingers crossed but by the personal reviews along with my own, I don't think that's necessary!!!

Garlic Herb Bubble Loaf

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
MADE THIS FOR MY BOYS AT THE HARLEY SHOP AND IT WAS A HUGE HIT! I EVEN MESSED IT UP BY LETTING IT RISE THE SECOND TIME WAY TOO LONG (I DONT USE OR EVEN OWN A BREAD MACHINE)! I FOLLOWED THE RECIPE EXACTLY, BUT NEXT TIME I'LL CUT THE DOUGH IN BIGGER PIECES. OTHERWISE, I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE LAST REVIEWER! DEFINITELY GIVE IT A TRY!!

Blueberry Crumb Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2006
Awesome! I made it exactly as directed, and it came out perfect. It tastes just like blueberry pie! Next time, I'll leave it in the oven a bit longer so it's more golden brown, instead of light brown. It's now a permanent part of my recipe box!! :)

Rich Chocolate Chip Toffee Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2006
Absolutely delish!! It's a great candy bar that's so easy to make! I got a little mixed up with all of the ingredients that needed to be reserved to make different layers. I put the remaining toffee bits on before the final baking, but that didn't matter! The results were still great! The sweetened milk mixes with the crust to create a caramel-ish layer. I had to refer back to the recipe, because I wasn't sure if I had added any caramel and just forgot! I highly recommend this recipe. :)

Blueberry Drop Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2006
These were great! I sell cookies and other baked goods to the girls at work, and these sold very well. Because of their almost cake-like consistency, I put homemade vanilla ice cream or blueberry sorbet (depending on who was on a diet or not!) sandwiched in between 2 of them. Awesome!!!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2006
Awesome!! I had a request for cheesecake swirled brownies, but I didn't want to stray from my favorite recipe. With no cream cheese, I made a concoction of pureed 1/4c cottage cheese, 1 egg, 1/2 tsp vanilla, about 1 tbs. flour, and 1/2 of a package of cheesecake pudding. Awesome!!

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
Perfect! Here are some sugar cookie rolling tips to make the most of your dough, as well as make things go a little easier and faster for you (hopefully!), because these are as time consuming as you'll let them be! So worth it though!: -I divide the ENTIRE batch into about 5 pieces, and leave them covered in plastic wrap or in plastic baggies in the fridge, removing one at a time to roll out. -Once I've used my cookie cutters on one as much as I can, I roll up the scraps, put them back into the plasic wrap/baggie, and into the fridge it goes. I do not re-roll it, even if I'm working fast and the dough's still cold. I then move onto the next ball of dough in the fridge, and so on, rotating in the same order I started. I do this until all of the dough is gone. -Everything gets rolled out onto a surface dusted with a 50/50 mixture of powdered sugar and flour. The powdered sugar helps keep the dough from getting tough, instead of using just flour alone. I hope all this helped some of you! Enjoy and have fun decorating!!
