Herman Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
Excellent, tender and light. But I did bake them longer than the recipe indicated -- just till they got brown.

Jalapeno Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
Really delicious, a bit tart, a bit sweet with a bit of a bite, but nothing even the children couldn't handle. I will most definitely use this recipe from now on.

So fresh and tasty, similar to seven layer salad but with a healthier green.

Angel Food Candy

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
I will never buy angel food candy again. This was fairly easy, providing the candy thermometer is accurate, and better tasting than the store bought.

Tuscan Turkey Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
Wish I could give it more than 5 stars. The leftovers are even better than the first days. Added extra veggies -- zucchini, carrots, red pepper. It was colorful and really tasty. Also, didn't have white beans so used pinto -- great taste and color as well.

Reminiscent of a gingerbread man -- great soaked in Christmas type coffees or cocoa or teas

Wild Asparagus Quiche

Tastes good, but it is too soupy. Have to cook too long. Should probably cut milk in half.

Microwave Oven Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
I have an 1100 watt microwave and following Linda's recipe my brittle burned after adding the nuts. I tried it again lowering the time and this is what worked for me. 2 1/2 minutes for the sugar and corn syrup, add the nuts and cook for 2 more minutes, add the vanilla and butter and 1 1/2 minutes more. I only did the 1 1/2 at the end for my husband because he likes it almost brown. I prefer it at 1 minute instead and it is gold like the photo on the original. I liked the hint posted about spraying the pouring edge of the pyrex bowl and also the wooden spoon with Pam and I used parchment paper to line the cookie sheet. You can re-use that several times and the brittle is

Caramel Apple Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2011
Sounds like great advice : I also took another reviewer's advice and sprinkled a mixture of sugar and cinnamon halfway thru to create that spicy ribbon. I think it really needs this little kick, especially if you are using a milder apple like I did. I also only used about 2 tablespoons of oil and the rest applesauce. I'm telling, you can NOT tell the difference! The caramel sauce is tremendous. I suggest pouring about 1/3 of it over the warm cake (I poked a few holes in the cake beforehand) and then, if you're serving it right away, drizzle the remainder over each slice. Holy cow! Good stuff. Good. Stuff.

Chunky Tomato Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2010
Really tasty and chunk. I too used the crockpot, actually overnight, and the vegetables did not get too squishy. Instead of corn starch, I added a few mashed potato flakes -- tastier and just as effective.

Remarkable Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
I cooked it as long as necessary to get the 236 degrees on the candy thermometer -- about 30 minutes. It turned out perfectly -- very nicely firm. Very tasty. Not sugary. Good results.

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
Fall apart tender with good flavor -- not too spicy, just enough to tantilize. We had it first over potatoes but will do the bun thing with extra sauce for the leftovers.
