Deep Chocolate Raspberry Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
I followed the directions exactly, and it was enjoyed by all (household members then coworkers when I needed it be gone so I would not eat it all). Next time I might try making it into three layers instead of two and doubling up on the rasberry filling.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
This is a huge favorite at my house. I use maple bacon, and in the last 10 minutes of the process I pour maple syrup over the smokies. They disappear at a very rapid rate. A good party food.

Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Reviewed: May 1, 2007
I really enjoyed this soup. I carmelized the onions before tossing them in the slow cooker, and used turkey kilbasa (about 1.5 lbs). Otherwise I pretty much followed the recipe. Although my boyfriend prefers the stove top soup I make with ham and bacon, this is an easier and healthier option, and I liked it a lot.

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2006
I added mushrooms to the mix, and since I only had raw spinich on hand, I used that and sauteed it up with the mushrooms. Next time I will use less butter in the sauteeing process, since it is already pretty greasy from the bacon. I also added oregano to the mixture. It was a hit in the house.

Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2006
This was a wildly popular at my house. It went away in a day. I barely changed the recipe. I replaced half the milk with heavy cream, and I used allspice instead of nutmeg. I also had to bake it about twice as long as the recipe says, but that might be my oven, which can be problematic at times. All in all, a big hit.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2006
This recipe was simple, quick, and removed some old bananas from my freezer. They turned out great, the streusel topping sold em. I did change out the white sugar for 50/50 white/brown sugar mixture, but otherwise the recipe was unchanged. Really tasty, and they travel well too. I eat them with cream cheese.

Linda's Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2006
This was an excellent lasagna. We used ricotta instead of cottage cheese, since my friend is a lasagna purist. And turkey instead of beef. We used more garlic and spices too. The end result was awesome though.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: May 24, 2006
I modified this recipe, by more than doubling the cheese (including throwing cheese into the mashed potatos, along with a lot of garlic) and adding lots more spices. Worcestire sauce helped alot. The end result was great though. A big hit at home, and at parties
