World's Best Bacon Cheese Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2010
The appetizer crowd gobbled this down quickly! Based on some of the other reviews, I changed it and used 8 slices of center-cut bacon, 1/3 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup sour cream, 5 green onions, a little tabasco (maybe 1/3 tsp.?) and about 2 ounces of cheddar along with 6 ounces of swiss. I left out the buttery crackers and used my small crock pot to heat this for about 90 minutes. Several people asked for the recipe.

Mary's Roasted Red Pepper Dip

Reviewed: May 16, 2010
This is FANTASTIC! I made it for my marina friends, and it was gone in about 10 minutes with several asking for the recipe. I didn't have Monterey Jack cheese, so I used Muenster and threw in a handful of shredded Colby Jack cheese. As suggested by a few, I added some Tabasco sauce (about 3/4 tsp.), and also added a few dashes of black pepper. I served it with crackers and slices of French bread. As many of my friends said, this recipe is a keeper!

Halibut with Zesty Peach Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
I only made the salsa portion of the recipe and served it with Hawaiian quesadillas (cheese, canadian bacon and pineapple). This was a HUGE hit, and people were putting the salsa on chips, crackers and anything else that was out for appetizers! The quesadillas and the salsa were gone within 10 minutes!

Ruth's Roquefort Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2007
Since I didn't have any crackers handy, I decided to make a dip instead of a cheese ball. I used 6 oz. cream cheese and added a cup of sour cream. I also added a little extra of the celery and onion (maybe 1 tbsp. each?). If you like more blue cheese, you could add it. The "dip" was fantastic! Several asked for the recipe!

Eggplant Parmesan II

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2006
I've always made eggplant parmesan with a recipe that called for frying the eggplant and din't use bread crumbs. This is SO much better - much less mess and less time. The bread crumbs add a lot of flavor. I used a plastic bag to toss the eggplant in the bread crumbs, and it was very quick and easy. I love eggplant parmesan, and this recipe is a keeper!

Warm Blue Cheese Dip with Garlic and Bacon

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2006
This dip was a HUGE hit with my friends at the marina! The only thing I would do would be to try low sodium bacon next time. I could taste the blue cheese, but it wasn't overpowering at all. This disappeared so fast that I only got to taste it once, and everyone asked me to make it again. If I had doubled the recipe, there wouldn't be any leftovers.

Parmesan Chicken I

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2006
I used about 1-1/2 cans of cream of mushroom soup and added a cup of sour cream. Also added a drained can of mushroom slices and 1 teaspoon of minced garlic to the mix. I left the rice out and served this over spaghetti. The butter does end up floating on the top, so I'm not sure how much good it does for the recipe. I cooked it for 4 hours on high and the chicken was still quite moist. Very tasty - I'll definitely make this again.

Creamy Avocado-Ranch Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2006
Made this for a graduation party and everyone loved it. I added a little minced garlic (about 1/2 tsp.) and more hot sauce (a little over a teaspoon). Leave time for the flavors to come together in the refrigerator - it tasted even better after sitting for a while.

Apricot Chicken I

Reviewed: May 4, 2005
VERY easy and simple - my mother has a similar recipe which adds 1/2 cup water to the soup/jam/dressing mixture and calls for marinating the chicken for a few hours before cooking. Either way, this is a good recipe when you want something quick and easy to prepare. I will definitely make this again.

Orange Cream Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2005
Delicious! I did as many suggested and used less milk and sour cream. I also substituted raspberries for the bananas and drained the fruit really well (about 3 hours total) before mixing this. It was a big hit on Easter!

Mississippi Six

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2005
I made this for friends and everyone loved it. Someone even asked to take whatever was leftover home with them! Definitely rinse and dry the beef before you make this. We like spicy foods, so I also added a few jalapenos (seeded and chopped).
