Max's Fresh Fruit Smoothie

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2010
This was yummy! Mine had more of a banana flavor than apricot, but that could have been the size of the apricots. I only used 3 t of sugar to save on the calories and it turned out super. Thanks for the fun treat!

Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
Amazingly easy! I made this recipe exactly how it was written, and it was perfect. The ham just falls apart and is super tender. My family, little kids included, all raved about it. I will definitely make this again and again. 8 lbs. is a ton of ham though, so invite company or plan to eat it all week long. And just as a side note, I have a large crock pot and the 8 lb. ham fit in it perfectly. So if you have a smaller one, you're going to want to cut this recipe in half. Also, I lined my crock pot with a crock pot liner (found at the grocery store by the tin foil) and I'm super glad I did. I pulled the ham out, left the bone and grease/juice behind, and tossed the bag in the garbage when we were done.

Ruby Red Layered Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
We make a lot of jell-o salads at our house and this is a new favorite. I made the recipe actually as it was written, and it turned out terrific. I made it in a 9x9 glass dish, so I would have big thick pieces. It was perfect.

Peanut Butter Temptations II

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
These cookies are pure bliss!! I always double the recipe because one batch just isn't enough. Try them straight from the oven (just let them cool for a couple minutes so you can get them out of the pan) and also try them frozen. YUMMY!!!

Cinnamon Cream Syrup

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
AMAZING!! I made this just as is and it were perfect. I served it on the Pumpkin Pancakes recipe found on this site and it was a match made in heaven. One suggestion: don't pour the syrup on the pancakes directly. Dip the pancakes in the syrup just before eating. The pancakes soak up the syrup so fast you don't taste it as much when you pour it on.

Almond-Crusted Halibut Crystal Symphony

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
I adore this recipe. I have made it several times and just love it. I can even get my kids to eat it, and that's a big deal. I suggest making sure you have fresh herbs for this. Oh, and the sauce is so good, I could bathe in it!

Pumpkin-Apple Muffins with Streusel Topping

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
These were delicious! My whole family, even the kids, love them. I made everything just as written with one exception -- I added 3 T of rolled oats to the streusel topping. And just as an FYI, I used Washington apples in this and 2 cups is about the same as 2 standard sized aples.

Orange Crunch Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2008
We LOVED this cake. It was light and so delightful. I will make this again and again. Everyone raved about it. I made it exactly as it is written, and the only thing I would suggest is to let the icing set up in the fridge for about an hour before frosting. It was a little soft and a tad hard to frost the sides.

Faux Jerk Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
This recipe is wonderful! Perfect flavoring and looks great too. I have little kids and a husband who does like peppers so I tried the recipe without the Scotch Bonnent chile peppers, and didn't substitute anything in its place. Still turned out super. My kids gobbled this up and my husband told me to add it to my "make again" collection.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
Fabulous recipe! They turned out perfect the first time I tried them (and that's uncommon for me and bread recipes). I don't make any changes to this recipe. Its perfect as it is. This has become a family favorite.

Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
Very good! I ooubled the recipe and baked it in a 9x13 pan for about 45 minutes. Turned out great. Would suggest this for breakfast or brunch. I did follow the suggestions of the other reviewers made these changes: 1. Cut down the flour to 1 1/2 cups 2. Used butter instead of shortening 3. Dusted blueberries with flour just before adding them to batter 4. Used 1/4 c white sugar and 1/4 c brown sugar for topping 5. Added 1 t. vanilla

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2006
I adore this recipe! My husband says it is "restaurant quality." Unless you are going to serve all the soup at once, you can cut down on the tortillas you cook up. I figure one tortilla per bowl of soup. Then I just make more as we eat the leftovers. I make a couple minor changes on the posted recipe when I make it. They are: I only use 1/4 a can of chiles, I use 1 can of corn instead of frozen corn, and I use petitie diced tomatos in stead of mashing whole tomatoes.

Clark's Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2006
This turned out terrific! I followed the recipe as written. I made it the night before and then just warmed it up in the morning. (One slice covered with Saran Wrap in the microwave for 1 minute was perfect.) I think I will try with with brocolli instead of spinach next time (although the spinach was great). I would also cook it just a tad longer.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2005
I LOVE this recipe! I serve this will Fritos on the bottom of the bowl, then the soup. And I have lots of topping options and everyone helps themselves. We have olives, green onions, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and sometime guacamole.
