Nice, not fabulous though. My potatoes never got crisp. Nothing wrong with the recipe - just not what I imagined.

American Lasagna

loved it!! I used no pre cooking lasagne sheets, bought creamed cottage cheese by accident and left out the garlic (I am nursing a baby who can't tolerate garlic - it is tragic!)thanx

Glorified Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2006
My mum used to maek something very similar to this, minus the rice. I would add shredded coconut. Do not make this more than a few hours before eating. It does not store well, infact goes quite dry. Great with ice-cream. Sliced bananas and mango peices mixed help togive this an extra boost.

Irish Lamb Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2006
This was good, i made this in my croc pot. just threw everything in at once and cooked on high for 5 hours. I omitted the wine (didn't have any) and reduced water to to 3/4 what was required (croc pot cooking requires less liquids). Served over rice.

Texas Ranch Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
Amazing!! Easy, quick, cheap and tasted amazing. Everyone wanted more (even the picky 3 year old) I only used 1 cup of cheese on top and thickened the sauce (which was a little thin) with 1 tb of corn flour (starch) in 2 tb water. Will definately make again, thanks for a great recipe!

Bread Machine Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2006
I made these today a cold and drizzely day with my 2 older sons (19 months and 3). These were so easy! The kids loved forming their own rolls (8 slightly larger ones) and eating them for lunch! I would love to try these with wholemeal flour (we don't normally eat white bread). I loved the texture, only added 1 tb of sugar, next time won't bother at all and simlpy added milk to create a glaze prior to cooking. Thanks for the recipe a real hit and kept the boys amused for a short while and then had silence while the ate, definetley worth 5 stars!!

Taco Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2006
This was requested by my mexican food loving husband. I was dubious at first (mexican with pasta - never heard of that before) but this was amazing and so easy (not to mention cheap!) a real winner in my books. This will go on to my meal rotation card file for sure!! p.s. did add a can of kidney beans for extra fibre and protien

Lemon Chiffon Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2006
Very easy to make. I baked this in a large rectangular tray (took 25 minutes)and didn't bother with cutting the cake in layers, just iced it all on top. I did do half water half lemon juice (it was still not as lemony as I would of liked) this cake is rather dry and really needs a "wet" icing/filling. This is more a lemon sponge cake.

Marinated Veggies

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2006
This is excellent, I had my reservations before i made this and almost didn't (due to the amount of soy sauce). My husband is no vegetarian, but even he comment on how good this was. I did not add the squash (had none) and used less peppers (don't like them) and added heaps of mushrooms and zucchinis (love them) and marinated the whole lot for over 4 hours. Did this on the BBQ (an Aussie thing - love my BBQ). Would recommend this to anyone!

Pizza Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2006
These are really good, i omitted the onions and added pepperoni, salami and ham (making meatlovers muffins) this is a good base recipe which you can tweak to your liking, ham and pinapple is next on my list. Thanks Karen, simple low in fat (when using low fat cheese) and tasty!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2006
These are easy and taste great! Brush over with a little milk before baking to get a nice shine on them. I made 20 smaller ones (they were about the size of a tennis ball once baked) as my children are very young. Can't wait to start using this basic recipe to relpica sweet rolls at my bakery - apple and cinnamon, and caramel!! Thanks for the recipe. Made these with caramel - out of this world, my husband ate half the batch in 1 day! I used canned caramel, half a cup did the whole batch, spread thinly - yum!

Apricot Chicken III

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2006
This recipe has been a stable in my home for years. I use lovely legs (skinned legs with the knee removed). I like to add a handful of sliced mushrooms to the cooking process and 1/4 cup roasted almond slithers just as I am serving. Serve with steamed rice, borccoli and corn - delicious!!

Penny Buns

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2006
These are great! A little time consuming (but that is the nature of bread baking). I have 2 small sons, so I made 18 smaller rolls, it cut cooking time down to just over 15 minutes. The house smelt amazing while these were baking - excellent while still warm with butter!!!

A Plus Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2006
This is outstanding! I thought my original recipe was the best, I was wrong! The only alterations I did was use half buttermilk and half oil and cut the sugar to 1 1/4 cups and use brown sugar it came out moist and delicious, it cut down on sugars and fats. An excellent recipe, full of fruit and has a low GI rating, a healthy snack that I do not mind my children eating occassionally, with the above alterations, each slice (based on 24 slices baked in a large recantular tray) has under 1/3 ounce (7 grams) of fat! That is less than a granola bar. Thanks for the recipe!!

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2006
I made this for my father in law, it tasted a little more like toffee, but still great. Just 1 recommendation, wear gloves when stiring in the caramel to the popcorn. I used a gigantic bowl and still had bits flying everywhere - i burnt my finger while I "caught and threw back" peices covered in caramel and spent an hour wearing an ice pack on my finger.

Cannelloni Florentine

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2006
This was great, I used the over all idea but made some changes - used chicken mince (half a pound), spinach (frozen), grated cheese and italian herbs for the meat (didn't bother to pre-cook). The sauce - canned tomatoes, white wine (1/3 cup), garlic, 1 cup chicken stock, 2 tablespoons tomato paste, itlian herbs and parmesan cheese, simmered for 1 hour, add 1/2 cup evaporated milk when ready to use. Use an old icing bag and pipe meat into shells and top with sauce, grated cheese and mozorella cheese. I never pre-cook the shells, bake at 375oF (180oC) for 45-50 minutes and served with steamed vegies and garlic bread, my husband was begging for more.

Don't Want to Cook Monday Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2006
Amazing and so easy! I used cauliflower (had no broccoli) it was like an enourmous cauliflower au-gratin, but with chicken. I added 1/2 cup milk to the sauce - perfect, had no horseradish, so I added 1 tablespoon djon mustard and garlic to taste. I also chopped the chicken, cut cooking time to just 40 mins. The last 10 mins I put about a cup of grated cheese on top and it went brown and bubbly. Excellent over rice! Even the picky 2 year old ate it (he loved the saucy chicken and rice)

Glazed Almond Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2005
Served this tonight for guests, looks very impressive and tastes great - very almondy (is that a word). I only added in 1/2 a cup of milk as it was at the "right" consistancy for a bundt cake. Thanks for the recipe, every one loved it, including my non sweet tooth cousin, Karl.

Curry-Coconut Shrimp

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2005
This was just okay, hence 3 stars. I didn't add the peppers as they give me reflux (I am pregnant again) I doubled the milk and curry , I substituted the coconut milk with 1 cup evaporated milk and 1 teaspoon coconut essence it cuts the fat to just 6 grams (a quarter of an ounce) I added frozen peas to sweeten it a little, it was quite bitter and salty. Not fantastic, but definatley easy.
