Double Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2005
o.k. so this pie turned out super awesome! It totally wasn't THAT hard, and so worth it even if it was! It was so rich and chocolaty compared to the pudding versions. At the last minute before serving, I smothered the top with fresh whipping cream, then I garnished it with chocolate curls that I made with a vegetable peeler. YUM

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2005
I had never made a homemade piecrust before so I was a little nervous, but this crust turned out perfect! I used butter flavored crisco. I think the trick is to not handle the dough too much.

Aunt Carol's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2005
I made two of these pies and brought one to a church pie auction benefit. It sold for 60$! It looked really pretty with homemade piecrust and latice. It was pretty simple to make and it was totally yummy, especially with the granny smith apples. They really do make the best apple pies because they are very flavorful and stay firm and slightly tart which is a nice compliment to the sweetness.
