About this Cook
I am mostly a very private person. I like to cook, bake, crochet ripple afghans for our family, & grow our own tomatoes to can!!
My favorite things to cook
Butter Kuchen, German stollen, german cookies & other kinds of cookies Banana-cinnamon-raisin bread. Yeast breads, & I can our own jams, relishes, bread & butter pickles-cut length-wise, tomato salsa.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to bake a leg-of-lamb,I like to bake a lot of German baked goods. I was taught by my grandparents, they used to own a bakery, & they came over from Germany in 1929, to become citizens of the USA & to learn the engligh language.
My cooking triumphs
pumpkin cheesecake, black forest cheesecake delight, butter kuchen(baked in a large cookie sheet; instead of a small cake pan), I mix-knead-shape & bake german stollens every year for our family.
My cooking tragedies
A long time ago, I burnt a lot of cookies, before I found out to bake cookies, bread, etc.. on the middle shelf, in the middle of the oven, & to put a oven temp. gauge in the oven also.

Okra Fry
I love fried okra !! the only thing I canged, was I used corn oil instead of olive oil, left out the mustard seeds, & put the sliced okra into some breading before I fried it!!
