Chocolate Covered Peppermint Patties

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
Easy recipe. The only reason I rated it 3 instead of 5, Is, I followed this recipe EXACTLY and still had to add about 10 cups of dough to get the right "dough" consistency. Also, the salt could be easily cut in half. And I would recommend using peppermint oil (food grade, of course) over extract. Though you'd need to cut down the amount used drasitically if you used the oil.

Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
Giving 2 stars because it TASTED good, but was an awful mess to look at. I ended up scrapping it and re-melting it all in a pot on the stove and added marshmallow creme to get a decent texture. Therefore was able to 'save' all the ingredients I wasted on this recipe. I Followed the recipe exactly.

Whipped Shortbread Cookies

Dee-VINE! Well after I omit the cherry 'bizness' and instead, I dip the bottoms into melted WHITE (not milk, not dark TRUST ME!) chocolate... When made this way, they are the BEST cookie evah! ;)

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
These were great! I gave 4 stars because I altered. I added 2tsp. Vanilla, and doubled the cinnamon. First batch I made too large and they "ran" everywhere, so I made smaller walnut sized balls and they came out PERFECT! Also don't bother with the sugar and fork mess...unless you like flat cookies... These are soft & chewy. This is a keeper! Also PERFECT with this *cream filling: 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar 1 cup marshmallow creme 1 teaspoon vanilla extract *from the Cream-filled chocolate cookies recipe from this site.

Bread Machine Garlic Bread

Great recipe! I rated 4 because I had to make the adj. of warm milk instead of milk powder. Also I used fresh minced garlic oppossed to powder... YUMMY! We never have any left overs!

Stuffed Green Peppers

This recipe "as is" is NOT good at all, but could be a good base to add upon... Onions, cumin, garlic, picante sauce, sharp cheese, all could do to make this recipe better. And plain tomato sauce.

My husband gave it 2 stars, but I give it 3 because I liked it alright. Definately a "base" recipe as it will not taste "divine" unless you embelish it with different seasonings.

Chickpea Curry

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
Ok, I feel bad giving this a 3 but It's just not very good without adding your own alterations. I made the recipe "as is" and was NOT happy with the flavour. After adding Curry, potato, sweet potato, salt, and a couple Tbl. of heavy cream. It was good enough to eat. Still not mind blowing. Great base though. Thank you Served with "Indian Saffron Rice" & Naan both recipes found on this site as well... TRY THE NAAN! It's easy and TASTY!!
