Country Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: May 29, 2007
THANKS! GREAT RECIPE......I've been trying to make sausage gravy for 14 years (city girl marries country man) and finally my husband gave me a standing ovation after I put this recipe on the table.

Hawaiian Wedding Cake III

We didn't really care for this at all. And make sure your whip topping is FROZEN or you'll have a puddle on top of your cake!!!!!!!

Leah's Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2007
This made great chicken stock and was pleased with the over all result but the dill added a "mystery" flavor that I didn't care for. Next time I will leave out the dill.Okay...I have to add on to my review. If you are looking for a soup that will kick a cold than this is the recipe...DILL and all...I boosted mine today with a some fresh garlic since we all have the coughs - this soup does the trick when you feel sick!!!

Spinach Skillet Bake

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2009
I've been making this recipe for years and we use the Monterey jack cheese. I also throw in a beef bouillon cube to give the flavor a boost. This isn't one of those dishes that grabs your taste buds and makes them sing but we enjoy it, especially with hot french bread on the side. Don't be afraid to boost the garlic as well if you love it.

Spicy Hot Chicken Legs

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
THIS was a wonderful idea! We are a large family of seven and I'm always looking to make the things we love more frugally and that take less time. The flavour was very good. I broiled them in the oven for 10 minutes at the end of the cooking time. It was a hit for us!

Cool Whipped Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
All I got was a runny mess. Had enough to try again and made sure to go exactly by what the recipe said and STILL ended up with another runny mess. Yes, I used instant vanilla pudding.

Lentil Pepperoni Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
This was very plain and needed some pizzazz. The pepperoni flavor was lost somewhere in the mix (I used sliced pepperoni). I am going to try this again BUT before I do I am going to saute several cloves of garlic in olive oil and than build the stew on that and use chunk pepperoni like the recipe stated.

Pull-Apart Garlic Buns

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
WONDERFUL!!! I substituted fine ground whole wheat for half of the flour! It was wonderful. Best rolls I have ever had. We dipped ours in the leftover butter sauce!! Think I will make these 3 times a week! I didn't have 2 tbsp. shortening and so I used vegetable oil. It turned out great! Instead of putting them in the rectangle pan I put all "12" rolls in a 10 inch cake pan. You can get "12" tiny rolls out of this or 8 heartier ones.

Cinnamon Cream Syrup

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2009
Unless you like the taste of evaporated milk I suggest you find another syrup recipe. Maybe whipping cream or half n half would improve the flavor but I wouldn't waste it imo.

It was good sauce but not like the white cheese sauce from the Mexican restuarants around here.

Unbelievable Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
These were awesome! I made them for hamburgers and I loved the soft and light texture they had. Followed the recipe exactly until I went to add the margarine and found I was OUT!! So I substituted oil for it and they turned out beautifully! Next time I'm using butter!

Baked Garlic Green Beans

I substituted balsamic vinegar and me and the children really liked it...but the husband thought it was disgusting. Beware the garlic breath....I love garlic but think it would be good with less.

Sweet Communion Bread

Reviewed: May 6, 2006
I really liked the bread but not for communion. It was way to hard to tear and very heavy. But we sure enjoyed eating it at home. I won't make it again though.
