Sweet Communion Bread

I really liked the bread but not for communion. It was way to hard to tear and very heavy. But we sure enjoyed eating it at home. I won't make it again though.

Beer Bread I

Wow!! I am impressed...I was in a pinch for a bread for our table since we were expecting company and I wanted to stretch dinner. I had one beer that had been in the fridge for months - so here I was. I replaced the sugar with sucanant. It was WONDERFUL - none left after dinner!!!

Okay...I'm joining the band of others who thought this recipe was awful. It was bland at best. I will not make this again. Corn torillas are so much better for enchiladas hands down!!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

This was soooo yummy! I love french dip sandwiches. I did add 1/4 c. italian seasoning and I didn't use canned soup because my son is allergic to soy. I found a soy free broth and used it for the broth and the soup. Added a clove of garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper, and a dash or tow of worcestershire sauce.

I substituted balsamic vinegar and me and the children really liked it...but the husband thought it was disgusting. Beware the garlic breath....I love garlic but think it would be good with less.

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

We loved it - but due to a communication error my son grated cucumbers instead of zuchinni for this recipe. (That was why it took more crumbs than it should LOL!) We look forward to doing it again with zuchinni.

Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations

I followed the suggestions of others and used oil instead of shortening. I also used cake flour (a.k.a. soft wheat). The cake was light and moist and didn't taste like preservatives which is a plus in my book! It could be a little sweeter but than again I don't mind cutting back on my sugar either. I WILL be making this recipe from now on.
