Black Cat Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
These cat cookies taste just like a brownie and were simple to make. I thought they would be a pain, so I decided to roll and cut them out with a cookie cutter, but then I tried a few on my own and it was much easier that way. They turned out so cute! Definitely par bake and then add the candy corn/red hots at about the last 2-3 minutes.

Spooky Witches' Fingers

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
These were so fun to make and taste so good! You definitely need to refrigerate the dough so it is easier to work with. I tinted it green and used red food coloring instead of the gel for blood. My kids thought they were so gross they didn't even want to eat them!

Antojitos Minis

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
These were so good, and the funny thing is everyone thought they were potato skins. Excellent appetizer and so great because you you fill them with whatever suits your preference. I definitely think you need to make a lot of them for a party, because they go fast!

Wisconsin Bratwurst

These were amazing! I will never cook brats any other way. Also I only used 4 cans of beer and 1/4 c. butter. Still delicious!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
DELICIOUS!! What is better than chocolate covered strawberries? I made these for Valentine's Day, and used the HUGE strawberries with the long stems on them. I used dark chocolate and they were so good! You would pay a fortune for these in the stores...why do that when you can make your own. Also, I have made them without the shortening and honestly they are just as good.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
This was a really great lasagna, but I do think the 1 TB. of salt can be cut way down. I think that you get enough flavor in all of the tomato products and the italian sausage and fennel seeds. I will definitely cut back on it next time.

Artichoke Bruschetta

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
These are really good, but I do think that you can cut back a little on the mayo. I also think that next time I will try adding some chopped roasted red peppers for a little color and taste.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
Excellent!! Restaurant quality wings and I didn't even fry them. Took another reviewer's advice and baked them at 400 for about 45-50 min. then broiled them for about 5. Used Frank's Red Hot sauce and they were awesome. Nice and crispy and without all of the fat and the hassle of frying.

Beefy Baked Ravioli

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2008
This was really good, but I did make a few changes. I made a sauce using 28 oz. of marinara, 14.5 oz. of diced tomatoes, about 4 oz. of tomato sauce, a little water, 4 garlic cloves chopped, fresh basil, and a bag of spinach thrown in (frozen chopped) in place of the beef. I let that simmer for about 30-45 minutes and then prepared the baked ravioli as directed. Really delicious and a great alternative to the beef. Also a good way to get your kids to eat their spinach!

Fabulous Wet Burritos

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
Unbelievably good burritos!! I used whole wheat tortillas and I baked them in the oven at 350 for about 10 minutes (should have done 15-20). I think one thing I would do different next time is make my own enchilada sauce. The sauce was good, but I would like to try one of the others from this site.

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
Really good tacos. The chicken definitely did not take 20 minutes to cook initially...probably about 10. The longer the chicken cooked after the sauce was in put the better it was. I just kept it on a low simmer and covered it, and it stayed nice and moist until we were ready for dinner. The only change I made was to add the whole lime as I love lime flavor. Delicious!

Wheat Germ Whole-Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2008
This is one of our favorite pancake recipes. We use this recipe to make many variations such as blueberry, chocolate chip, banana, and pecan, and I always add some cinnamon to the recipe. Really makes a difference in a good way!

Whole Grain Waffles

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
Made these for breakfast this morning and they were excellent. They had great flavor and were so crispy and light at the same time. My kids wanted seconds so I know they were good! The only thing I changed was using oat flour in place of ww pastry flour as I was out. Will use this recipe again and again.
