Grandma's Best Ever Sour Cream Lasagna

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2010
I have made this recipe several times and love it! I follow the recipe exactly except I omit the olives (although I would like them, my family wouldn't) and use fresh basil when I have it. This is the best lasagna recipe I have made, thank you!

Carrot Cake Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
I make these bars for my husband every year on his birthday - they are his favorite. We tested several carrot cake cupcakes around town for our wedding reception and couldn't find one that we really liked, so my grandma tried this recipe out as a cupcake and they turned out great! She made them a week ahead of time, put them in the freezer and when thawed you couldn't tell they weren't from a bakery - they were still moist and delicious! So, a special thank you to Linda for this great recipe! Not the healthiest thing in the world but they were great for our wedding!

German Sweet Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
I have made this pie several times now, exactly as written, and always get compliments and requests to make it again. The filling is pretty versatile too, my daughter and I have filled krumkake with it and it was delicious! I bet it would be great in a puff pastry as well.

Sara's Iced Coffee

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
I'm a broke student who needs a cheap delicious coffee fix in large quantities for finals week and this was absolutely perfect! I made it just as the recipe stated, but then threw the cooled ingredients into my blender with ice, then added milk (I didn't have cream) and it's even better than a $5 frappachino. Blending it made a nice froth too, which I also loved. Delicious! Thank you for helping me survive finals week!!!!

Chocolate Truffle Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
If I could save only one recipe for the rest of my life, it would be this one. I make these once every couple of weeks. They can be tricky, they always seem to turn out differently from batch to batch, and it seems like the more humid it is outside, the flatter the cookies turn out. I've found that well-chilled (but not frozen)dough and chilled cookie sheets help, as well as whipping the eggs really well, and smaller cookies tend to look nicer. I've never rolled them, just spoon-dropped them which saves a lot of time and they turn out fine. I've used many different chocolate combinations and none have disappointed. My husband prefers them flat because then he can squish two together, fold them in half, and shove the whole shebang in his mouth. I spread nutella on two cookies and ate it like a sandwich once, and I'm pretty sure I had an out-of-body experience. BEST. COOKIES. EVER!!!!! THANK YOU FOR IMPROVING MY QUALITY OF LIFE WITH THIS RECIPE!!!!!

Tuna Melts

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2010
I didn't have mozzarella so I used shredded cheddar cheese and it was quite good! I hesitantly added diced cucumbers and it turned out well, added a little crunch. I bet these would also be good with provolone cheese. A great easy summer dinner.

Mashed Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
This is one of the best soups I've ever made! From now on, every time I make mashed potatoes, I will have to "accidentally" make way more than is needed just to make more of this soup. I pretty much followed the recipe as it was, but I sort of eyeballed the potatoes. The mashed potatoes I used were baby-reds, jackets on, with lots of chives, and those textures with the creamy soup turned out really well. Thanks so much for the great recipe!
