Cheeseburger Soup II

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2010
Very good comfort food. Excellent soup for a cold winter's day. I used the frozen shredded hash browns and it was yummy.

After-Thanksgiving Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2010
This soup is awesome! My family loves it so much that even when Thanksgiving is at someone else's house I either have to beg for the carcass or still cook a turkey at home.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2010
Seriously addicting dip. I've had to give out the recipe on several occasions already. I've baked it and microwaved it and been satisfied either way. I tried just using just the parmesan on top and I also tried adding panko crumbs to the parmesan on top as someone suggested. Either way, the top gets a little too tough when it cools off a little. I've since started to simply add the parmesan to the cream cheese mixture. Problem solved!

Grilled Chicken Thighs Tandoori

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2010
I decided to try this recipe based on the reviews even though I was a little leery of the combination of the ingredients. I'm so glad I did. It was wonderful. Followed the recipe exactly and was not dissapointed.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2010
This tasted very good, but perhaps I let my steak marinade too long. The lemon juice started to "cook" the meat so parts of it had a wierd texture. I also used a rather thin cut round steak. I'll make this again with a thicker cut of meat and keep an eye on the marinade time.

Caldo De Res (Beef Soup)

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2007
Excellent, tasty, and inexpensive recipe. This is my new comfort soup-instead of chicken noodle!

Triple Berry Crisp

Reviewed: May 24, 2007
Very easy and tasted wonderful. Mine didn't "crisp" up the way I would have liked it to. I don't know what I did wrong, but I will definitely still make this again.

Braided Easter Egg Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2007
I made this the day before Easter and it looked great. Everyone thought I bought it at a bakery. I made sure to rinse the heck out of my colored eggs before I put them in the dough. They were a little pale, but still had some color to them. On Easter, I warmed it just slightly and it was a little dry. The eggs turned out fine. I will make this again if I intend to eat it the day I bake it.

Sweet and Spicy Stir Fry with Chicken and Broccoli

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2007
This was pretty good. I added some brown sugar to add a little bit more sweetness and tofu because my family loves it.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2007
Excellent sloppy joe recipe. This is for anyone who thinks they don't like sloppy joe because they tried the stuff from a can.

Bob's Awesome Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2007
Good recipe. I tweaked it quite a bit though. Added 1 lb. of bulk italian sausage, another jar of spaghetti sauce, parsley, parmesan, and an egg to the cottage cheese mixture and some extra italian seasonings to the jarred sauce. Started with the meat mixture so nothing would stick to the pan, and added a whole heckuva lot more mozzarella and parmesan to the top. It's a good base recipe for lasagna beginners though.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2007
Wonderful rolls. Made them for Easter the day before. Just reheated them slightly for dinner and they were still soft, light, and fluffy.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2007
My family loves this recipe, especially my teenage daughter. Fine with me, because it's quick and easy, and I usually have all the ingredients on hand all the time except the sherry-which I just leave out. I serve it over rice with a green vegetable on the side.

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2007
Loved it! So simple and cheap, but so good. I didn't have any peanuts but I had crunchy peanut butter so that worked out perfectly. Also, I used vermicelli noodles instead of spaghetti and added cubes of extra firm tofu. When my family asked what was for dinner-I vaguely said "Asian Noodles" because I didn't want them to immediately turn their noses up at the thought of peanut butter paired with pasta. After serving it to them they think peanut butter noodles should be a regular menu item at this household.

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2007
Easy, carefree way to make ribs, especially in the winter. Used Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce instead of chili sauce and only half of the ketchup. Tasted great and fell off the bone just like we like it. Will make again.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2007
Great flavor, now if I could only master the presentation. It wasn't the most attractive meal I've ever made. I used kitchen string because I didn't have toothpicks. I also used half the butter and replace that with EVOO. The sauce was gobbled up by my husband. I followed another posters suggestion and smeared a bit of dijon mustard on each-I enjoyed that, but my children did not enjoy that factor.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2007
Excellent recipe. Have made this a couple of times now. I don't think the trip to the oven is necessary. I usually use a pork roast in place of the boneless ribs and the meat just falls apart beautifully. So simple.

Sesame Beef

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2007
Good recipe for a quick meal. I substituted some sesame oil for the vegetable oil to truly make it taste like sesame. Next time, I will substitute some honey for the white sugar as some suggested.

Herb Roasted Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2007
This was OK. Very easy recipe. I doubled the sauce for dipping as some suggested and it was a good glaze for the pork, but it was not good for dipping-too sugary sweet. I think I will try this again, but instead of sugar I will use honey. I think it will make a much nicer, thicker glaze and better tasting dipping sauce.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2007
I tried this recipe on my non fish loving family and they loved it. It does taste great, but I wish it were a little more healthy. I want to feed my family fish they like without all the mayo, butter and cheese.
