American Chop Suey II

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
OK. First you need to chop 6 strips of bacon into 1/2" pieces and brown that with the onion. Remove and discard the onion as it becomes brown. Do not drain. Brown the ground beef in the same skillet, then drain well. Proceed as directed in the recipe but reduce the macaroni by 1/2. i guarantee the addition of bacon will make this recipe a winner!!

This is a GREAT recipe. I have been making it for many years. Only difference is a layer of crushed potato chips on top before baking.

Sweet Polish Sausage

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2005
This really is a wonderful recipe. Works best with high quality sausage. Pineapple chunks, garlic and green pepper are great add-ins. I haven't cooked sausage any other way since I found this recipe!

Whole Wheat Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2005
These turned out REALLY well - I used less milk as suggested by previous reviewers, but after mixing the batter and cooking one test pancake ended up adding in the rest. They were light in texture but were very filling and satisfying.

Very easy and not too heavy. Really nice with a spritz of canned whipped cream.

Pork BBQ

I have made this twice and it came out really tasty both times. I think adding a little liquid smoke next time will make it even better. Leftovers go great on flour tortillas.

Dog Treats I

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2005
Our dogs Charly (picky)and Heidi(glutton) both approve! Had to knead in 1/2 cup more flour so that the dough was less sticky. Used mini heart and star cookie cutters and they came out better looking than store-bought dog treats. Thank you Donna!

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2005
This recipe turned out great! I added 1 tsp. garlic powder to the water along with the bouillon, parsley and onion. Put fresh rosemary under the breast skin with the butter. Also placed a quartered lemon and quartered onion inside the cavity. Used a 12 lb. bird as recommended and it was done in 3 hours. Allowed it to rest 20 minutes before carving. Be sure to spray the foil with cookong spray.
