Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2010
Just amazing. People kept asking what kind of chocolate I added for the cake to be so dark. I have done this recipe twice and people just go crazy with it. Today was the second time and I doubled the recipe. There was nothing left!!!! This is truly a great recipe because of the great taste and consistency, the easiness and the lightness (the batter doesn't have any margarine/butter). I added coffee instead of boiling water. 5 stars very well earned.

Easy Key Lime Pie I

Reviewed: May 6, 2010
wow wow wow. Amazing pie. Perfect combination of awesome taste and foolproofness. I used 2 cans of condensed milk, 1 cup of lime juice and 4 yolks as well as a bit of lime rind. I made a graham cracker, butter and oatmeal crumbly crust and the result is just amazing. I baked the crust for 6 minutes before filling and 20 min with the filling. I then refrigerated for a few hours. Thanks for sharing, definitely one of the best recipes I have tried in this website.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2010
This is a good recipe to have around if you have cocoa powder instead of chocolate around. But...the texture is more cake-like than brownie-like, as if a lot of air were trapped inside. The taste is good and I added some nuts because my hubby loves those. I baked in a rectangular pan only for 20 minutes and they came out perfect, maybe because the batter turned out thin when I poured it in this pan.

No Roll Pie Crust II

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
Wonderful recipe!!!!! I don't like to cook with butter because it's so bad for your health, so this is quite a descovery. I made a quiche and I did bake the crust for about 8-10 min before filling it. Thanks for sharing...you have earned the 5 stars!

Oatmeal Whole Wheat Quick Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2009
I have to differ that this bread is GREAT. The taste was great BUT I feel like I made a huge muffin in terms of the crumbly consistency of this bread. Maybe this happened because I did not grind the oatmeal. I did soak it in the milk for 10 minutes though. I loved the neutral taste of this dough and I added some sesame seeds on top before baking. I might try baking this dough in muffin cups next time because it is perfect for that.

Spanish Flan

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
Loved this recipe! I had to substitute the evaporated milk for whipping cream because when I opened the can of evaporated milk I realized it had expired and I didn' t have another one. Also, I had to bake it about 20 minutes longer than the recipe called for because the center looked way too undercooked when I took it out of the oven (I cooked it in a can as opposed to a shallow pie dish, maybe that's why it took longer). Despite these changes the flan came out perfect and it was a complete success among my guests!!!

Easy Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
Wonderful recipe. I substituted sugar with 4 tbsp honey, I added 2 tablespoons bran and 1 teaspoon molasses to add a bit of color. I baked for 20 min and they came out perfect! It's a very flexible and easy recipe, and the way I made it made it possible to combine them with sweet or salty accesories (cheese and ham and/or jelly and preserves). Thanks for sharing it!!!
