Strawberry Pie II

this pie was great. my hubby, who hardly EVER comments on "sweets" told me over and over again how much he loved it. i accidentally used 1 c. water instead of 3/4 c. so it was a little "soft" but still delicious. i also sliced my strawberries to make it easier to eat.

Rye Beer Bread

It's probably not fair to even rate this recipe because I changed it so much. I didn't let the beer/flour mixture sit overnight, just for about 1 1/2 hours. I used whole wheat instead of rye and I used honey instead of sugar. I also subbed 1 c. flax flour for 1 of the cups of bread flour. anyway, it still came out good. the only thing I'd change next time is maybe doubling the honey or adding a little sugar. It's got a great texture but w/ all of my changes, it needs a little more sweetener.

Honey Wheat Bread I

ok, i just made this and i have to comment that it is delicious. the reason i only give 4 stars is that i changed too many things. i didn't use evap. milk, but buttermilk instead. i used 1/2 c. melted margarine instead of the 1/4 c. shortening. i used about 1/2 c. honey, and added a little extra water to compensate for about a cup of rolled oats i added. YUM. i made 2 dozen buns - delicious!

Sour Cream-Rhubarb Squares

mmmm...this was delicious. I made it twice with different, but equally good results. the first time i made it, i followed the recipe fairly close, but used a combo of yogurt and mayonnaise instead of the s. cream because i had none. I also added about twice the topping. this was very good, verrrry moist, and some of the topping dropped to the bottom and made a caramelly stuff. mmmm. the second time, i added about 1/2 c. extra flour and less mayo. This was more like a traditional coffee cake - very good also.

Waikiki Meatballs

This is the first time i've commented on a recipe from this site although I've used several and have had fairly good luck. I made these meatballs a day early, then threw them in the crockpot with the sauce for a party last night. Lots of compliments. I thought the meatballs were bland, although I added a little garlic. If I make them again i will add more garlic and probably some spices. The sauce was very good with a few additions - 1/3 c. catsup, a couple of tablespoons spicy mustard, and about 1/4 extra soy sauce. My friend said she doesn't usually like "sweet meat" but she loved it and asked for the recipe. thanks!
