Rich Chocolate Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2007
I have 5 children, so I knew I had to try this one. This was the first time I've ever used a springform pan, so I was disappointed when it leaked butter into my oven (and consequently smoked up my kitchen). Next time I'll line with foil. But, all in all, I was pleased. It turned out very pretty. It tasted delicious after chilling all night. I correctly assumed prep time would be more than 20 minutes. It took that just to prepare the crust.:)

Sausage Balls III

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2006
I used cream cheese. I don't like dry sausage balls and these were too dry. My kids liked them though. I'll probably put the leftovers in a sauce or gravy of some kind for my husband.

German Sausage Chowder

Reviewed: May 11, 2005
This soup was DELICIOUS! I used chicken broth base instead of water and bouillon. Also added garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste (more than a pinch). We liked it a lot and I definitely plan on making it again!

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: May 4, 2005
These muffins were gorgeous! I should've used a more tart apple(all I had were red delicious), but the kids said they were great and I thought so too. I did add a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg to the flour mixture before adding to the wet ingredients.

Chicken Curry I

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2005
I usually modify (depending on what I have on hand or what my family will like). I used 1/2t cinnamon and added a 1/2t of turmeric. I simmered in chicken broth and salted to taste. I also added 2c yogurt and 1/4c flour. Turned out great!

Chicken a la King II

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2005
I wanted something different than our usual sauteed veggies, chicken, and rice. This was just as simple and very good. I used the whole 1/2 cup flour and 2/3 cup milk instead of 1/2. I had extra broth on hand in case it needed thinned but it turned out fine. I added onions and extra mushrooms and just salted and peppered to taste. Everyone thought it was great!

Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2005
Good poundcake!4 stars only to leave room for improvement. After the review saying the cake was dry and bland I decided to add 1/2 cup butter,1/2 cup sour cream,1/2 t mexican vanilla(Poundcakes are expensive and I didn't want my ingredients wasted on a dry, bland recipe).I used a greased and floured bundt pan.It turned out beautiful and tasted delicious. The ONLY thing I would change is that it was a little porous for my taste.I like a DENSE pound cake.We ate with strawberries and whipped cream. It was a big hit!
