My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, my mother would always make triple batches of her Chocolate chip cookies. These would be delivered to neighbors, coworkers, teachers etc... Around christmastime, our house always had freshly made cookies piled sky-high on the dining room table waiting to be packaged up and tied with a bow. It took a while but I have mastered the recipe. My brother will always say that moms are way better than mine, but she still lets him sneak bites of the dough.
My cooking tragedies
When I was 16 I attempted to make a seafood sauce for pasta. Making a roux was involved, and it wasn't thickening. So being a bit impatient, I kept adding flour and then more flour. I added it all to angel hair pasta and it became the consistency of play-dough. My family always reminds me of that "cream of c&@p" recipe. That was 16 years ago and I will never live it down.

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf
Looks slightly strange up close but tastes like beef. I have made it 3 times this month!!!

Pineapple Cranberry Relish
When I put this out on the table for Thanksgiving, everyone groaned. They are very partial to the gelatinous can shaped slices we have had at previous thanksgiving diners. Well no more - Everyone loved it! Many of my family members even asked to take some home with their leftovers! The pineapple is the key and the nuts add a wonderful crunch!

Fish Tacos
The sauce is amazing. I crave these all the time. I do use a shortcut..... Frozen battered fish that I can just pop in the oven.
