Chocolate Turtle Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2005
This recipe was so good! It was very rich, so a little slice goes a long way! I will make this one again!

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2005
I made this recipe a few days beforehand to save time the night before. I cooked the ground beef, added all the ingredients to the crockpot and let it cook for 8 hours. I then froze it, and unthawed it the night before the cookoff. Put it BACK in the crockpot, and it turned out beautifully. I think the flavors might have done better because it had that day to meld.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2007
This was a very good stew, the only thing I did was I only added 1 pound of beef because that was all I had. It still turned out great! I only gave it 4 out of 5 because I'm not a beef fan, but everyone else loved it!

Hearts of Palm Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2007
This tasted great, but I did reduce the amount of oil to 1/2 a cup. Next time I will reduce it again to 1/3 cup. Great recipe!

Balsamic Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2007
These potatoes tasted great, a different twist on the potatoes normally served with dinner. I was too lazy to use another measuring cup (it was a big dinner) so I just sprinkled the vinegar right out of the jar onto the potatoes!

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2007
This was a great recipe, I will make it again! I only added a few teaspoons of sugar though and it still tasted great. Next time I will use olive oil instead of regular vegetable oil and see how that tastes. This would also be a great marinade over cold pasta salads too!

Pork Tenderloin alla Napoli

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2007
This recipe smelled and tasted great! I followed other suggestions to double the recipe's sauce, and I don't think that was enough sauce either! I will make this again, but be generous with the sauce.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2007
I made this last night, and also made some changes. I added two cloves of garlic with the onions and only used two cups of cheese: one blue cheese and one cup of shredded cheddar mix. It was great!

This is a great recipe and a staple for dessert when I have company.

Puttanesca I

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2007
This is one of my favorite recipes of all time. I used to get it at a favorite Italian restaurant where I used to live, but now I can make it for myself. Leftovers are even better the next day too!

Cocktail Meatballs

Don't let the unappetizing photo of these meatballs throw you off! These were a hit at a party I threw and were the first thing to disapear!

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2007
I thought this had great potential when I started it, but it was disapointing! It was just really bland. It made a big serving, and I sure won't be eating the leftovers.

Simple Tuna Melts

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
"Best tuna fish sandwich ever" was the review I got when I made these sandwiches! I messed up the recipe a little because I forgot to print it out, but it still turned out great! I accidentally used TWO cans of tuna, about 1/4 cup of minced onion and a whole (small) can of diced jalepenos. I added a squirt of whole grain mustard and a squirt of mayo (to keep it together better). I also used whole wheat bread instead of the English muffins. This is a keeper!

Moroccan Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2007
I don't think I would make this again unless I modified it. I doubled the cayenne pepper and I felt it did need more salt. It was hard to believe something with so many nice spices lacked in flavor. I would use a vegetable or chicken stock instead of water, add salt, and double the lentils. It was like spicy vegetables floating in water (even after I blended some of it).

Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2007
This was good but not awesome. I think it would have been much better if I had added the half and half to the butter, and slowly added the cheese mixture. I also added about 1/2 a cup of diced onions and fresh garlic to the butter. If I made it again I would skip the processed cheese too (it was globby), but it might have been tolerable if it had been melted in as suggested.

Kielbasa with Honey Mustard

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2007
I made the recipe as shown except I cooked the kielbasa with onions. It went over very well, but not spectacular.

Cheesy Polenta Casserole

I make my own polenta (it's easier and a LOT cheaper!) and my own basil marinara sauce. It is delicious.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2007
I agree this would probably work very well on any fish. Since I'm a vegetarian and don't eat fish or meat, my boyfriend said this tasted very good for a farmed fish that usually tasted like mud!

Chicken Tortilla Soup I

Reviewed: May 2, 2007
This is a great recipe that I've made several times now. I think the cilantro is an essential part of this recipe. I usually top with chopped avocados and shredded cheese if I have it on hand. It's also great with cornbread muffins to soak up every drop!
