Oh, how I wish I had more than three days to prepare for vacation.
I always do this though; life seems to operate in slow motion up until the day before I leave. It’s only then I remember the list of things I really should’ve done a week ago. I will soon switch into high gear, the washer and dryer will be running nonstop, I make endless trips to the store for that last thing I forgot, and I’m packing and repacking, and in and out of the bathroom, weighing my suitcases. When the airline tells me I have 50 pounds, I pack it to 49.9 pounds. Yes, I’m one of "those" people!
A little more than two weeks ago I had asked you all for suggestions, and boy, did you all come through! I’ll be on a volunteer trip in the Dominican Republic, and I really needed project ideas to lead during a three-day camp for Dominican children. I was shocked when I logged in and saw I had more than 70 comments!
I loved all the ideas, but of course I had to whittle it down a little bit. I took all of the other suggestions and emailed them to the program organizer too, so other volunteers who were having a rough time coming up with ideas could use your suggestions. They organizers loved your ideas! I promise to take pictures of the crafts so you can see the results! The two projects I plan on doing are paper plate animals and coffee filter flowers and butterflies. I know I’ll have extra time down there, so I also have a few ideas for paper plate masks and friendship bracelets too.
I do want to say thank you for all your help! Not only your suggestions and helpful crafting websites, but for your support as well!
