Great way to use up the egg yolks from angel food cake. This cake is delicious served with whipped cream and peaches.

Angel Food Cake III

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2005
Very good. The only mistake i made was not flipping the cake upside down as soon as i took it out of the oven. It sort of shrunk because of that.

This chicken was delicious served with some pico de gallo and mexican rice. I did double the spices for the dry rub.

Adrienne's Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2005
This was the best cucumber salad i've ever had. I used a red onion like another review had suggested and the salad was so pretty. I also used my peel stripper on the cucumber to take strips of the skin off, then when i cut it, the cucumber slices looked like little flowers.

Mexican Rice III

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2005
This was very flavourful. I didn't have enough tomato so, the rice wasn't at red as it is in the picture, and i didn't use the bouillon cube as a review suggested. I also used some fruity hot sauce instead of jalapeno and the heat was perfect. I just threw all the ingredients in my rice cooker and everything was cooked to perfection.

Souvlaki

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2005
This was some of the best souvlaki i've ever made. The marinade worked really well, it flavoured and tenderized the meat. Use real lemon juice, the bottled stuff wont give you the same flavour. I added mushrooms to my skewers and they grilled up nicely.

Kettle Corn

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2005
I used to make just plain popcorn from scratch. But now my family always begs me to make kettle corn, my dad even thinks it's better than the stuff you get at the fair. I always add salt at the end just to even out the flavours. Keep shaking while its popping, trust me, it's worth the workout. And sometimes i'll even add food colouring before the pop corn has started to pop, because i'm cool like that XD I haven't tried it with brown sugar, but i might soon.

Tangy Poppy Seed Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2005
Very good. Don't use all the poppy seeds though. Unless you realllly love them. Just add a few and see how it is, then adjust to how many you think looks/tastes right.

Lime Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2005
This chicken really turned out great. A nice quick meal with great flavour. I only added a few tablespoons of butter though, a cup seems like a lot. I actualy added half the lime while the chicken was cooking for a little extra flavour along with a couple splashes of tequila. Tasted great served with mashed potatoes and fried zuchinni. I omitted the lemon pepper since i don't have any and am not quite sure what that is.

Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts I

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2005
My family really loved this recipe, out of all the appetizers we made for a party this was the best. I made a few changes to the basice recipe though. I precooked the bacon in the microwave, and heated up the ketchup and sugar in a pot ahead of time to make the sauce, poured it over the bacon wrapped water chestnuts on a baking sheet where i baked them in the oven for 5 minutes. Also i used half regular ketchup, half kickers for some extra spice.
