Hi!
I grew up travelling and thus became a little nomadic. Today, I am doing a Masters in International Affairs in Paris. Yet I hope to keep travelling, always discovering new places, faces and flavours in the world!
My favorite things to cook
Stir fries and exotic foods. Whether it is traditional venezuelan arepas for friends or sushis with my boyfriend, I like to mix flavours and try new recipes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother is of hungarian origin but grew up in Venezuela. She taught me that patience and always checking the flavour is the secret to a genuine goulash or a good venezuelan recipe called asado criollo. She also taught me that being pratical and efficient in the kitchen can buy you time to put more love into every dish.
My cooking triumphs
My first triumph might have been turning Mickey mouse's sugar cookies into cakes and muffins when i was 8!
These days having mastered my mom's goulash or learnt to copy a few recipes from the restaurant i worked at feels like an accomplishment.
Yet the best is when my sweetie compliments me on a recipe I am trying out for the first time!
My cooking tragedies
Burning the rice when i was learning to make Iranian tadig then turning the rice for sushi into a crusty tadig instead!
Seriously the worst was when as a teenager i managed to make an omelet so rubbery and stale it could bouce of the walls! LOL
