Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
I never reviewed a recipe before, but this one is great! I used homemade stock, leftover chicken, Near East Brand boxed wild rice, omitted the salt, and used half & half instead of heavy cream- still came out wonderful.

Alice's Sour Cream Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
Cooked on stove, not in microwave. Went well with the same glass of the wine I added. Nice over rice pilaf or wild rice. Sauce did not thicken, but was delicious. Next time will cook chicken, remove from heat, and cook sauce until thick then add chicken. Very tasty.

Caramel Popcorn Balls

Good, not too sticky. Greased hands with crisco helped to mold them. Added M&M's to them to make it fun.

Candy Cane Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
Did have to add more flour so less sticky- added 1/4 cups flour (and some more powdered sugar) until dough consistancy. Got lazy at the end and just did circles dipped in the candy cane mixture and came out to be cute candy cane sugar cookies. Mixed candy canes into the dough and added a few drops of peppermint oil.

Jen's Nachos

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2010
The kids LOVED it! I used lean beef so didn't have to drain it. Used taco seasoning from another recipe, just cut up the tomatoes instead of canned, added some onions, and used only a tablespoon of BBQ sauce, but still delicious. Poured the mixture over the chips and then sprinkled cheese on top and baked until cheese melted. Any chips good with this, used plain corn chips and delicious.

Cathy's Creamy Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
Family Loved it! Even a lower fat verstion- I used homemade no salt chicken stock instead of cream soup can for lower salt/fat option, increased the wine a bit and used 4 slices munster cheese (didn't have swiss in the house) and low salt stuffing. Every bit was gone from my picky eaters. Perfect!

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
Yummy! I definately thought it needed butter to mix in, tasted better that way. All the kids peeled off the frosting from the cake and only ate that! Easy and fun messy recipe. Put the bowl in the sink to do the kneading and kept the mess somewhat at bay.

Beef and Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2010
So my family has a deep loathing of casseroles, so I did not anticipate any happy kids, but they loved it! I didn't have everything on hand, so used 1/2 a jar of garlic spegetti sauce and white wine and it was still great. Everyone really liked it including picky hubby & kids. Thanks!

Onion Rings

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2011
Great sweet onion ring recipe, but missing something. I took others advice and added some seasoning. Salt would be best, but since I don't use salt in cooking (heart healthy-ish), I used a tablespoon of Mrs. Dash origional, 1/2 tsp paprika, and 1 tsp of pepper. Still could use something so mixed in italian flavored breadcrumbs- that was good, but still needed a bit of salt. I also soaked the onions in beer, although I could not taste it.

Macaroni and Cheese V

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2011
I have made this exactly as directed & get many compliments. I do like my own tweeks too; I use a high quality very sharp chedder cheese, tsp of regular spicy brown mustard or grey poupon (rather than the dried) & add a bit of regular Mrs. Dash to taste (in addition to salt & pepper). I wisk the milk sauce rather than stir it to make it real smooth. I lOVE the breadcrumbs on top, but my family doesn't so I put the crumbs over 1/2 of it for a delicious thick breadcrumb crust for me :-) I try all my recipes with ricemilk & do not recommend using ricemilk for this one. However, the ricemilk version was still SO MUCH better than storebought boxed stuff. Also, this does seem to need a bit salt. I tried without it, but found I needed a little to taste as good (& I never cook with salt).
