Apple Chips

Loved these. No mandolin so just sliced them thin with a knife. Hardly needs the sugar listed, but the cinnamon is good. Baked for one hour and probably need another hour, as other reviewers suggested. Still delicious at 1 hour but not crispy yet. A wonderful snack. People eating them as fast as I can make them!

Pork Sweet Potato Stew

Wow! Did this tonight in the crockpot. Just threw everything in and put it on low for 8 hours. Turned it up to high for an hour to thicken with a bit more flour, and that was it. Super tasty. Everybody loved it. I used 2 teaspoons of each of the herbs, and threw in some bay leaves. Short on wine so used some water and chicken soup base. One of the best things I've made in the crockpot. Will be making this again regularly!

Bread Machine Challah I

My favorite bread recipe. Have a new bread machine, and have tried a few different types of bread. I like sweet egg breads, and this recipe turns out a perfect bread. This time I let the machine bake it, maybe next time I'll braid it myself. This recipe is a great place to start for home made bread! Everyone loves it, and hubby who grew up with challah says it tastes like the bread growing up. Positive reviews all around.

Brunch Enchiladas

It turned out great! I always change things. I used 1/2 lb sausage, because that's what I had. Added in 2T of home-made taco seasoning and 2 cups hash brown potatoes. Tore up corn tortillas, put half on bottom, then sausage mixture, then other half of tortillas. I used milk because it's what I had, and 6 eggs. Pour over casserole and let sit overnight. I used an 8x11 dish and it filled it perfectly, but took 2 hours at 350 to bake. . I'll be making this again!

Taco Seasoning (without the chili powder)

Oh yeah! My family liked this as much as the packets, and this was fun to mix up. Of course I have to tweak everything. I reduced the salt and cayenne, added 2 tsp flour and 1 tsp beef bullion granules. Also added 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp allspice, 1/2 tsp ground thyme, 1/2 tsp ground marjoram, and 2 tsp ground coriander. Those are spices I use for my chili, so figured what the heck. Add 3/4 cup water and 2 Tbsp of spice mix to a pound of ground beef and cook down. Lovely! Thank you for the great recipe.
