Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2015
Very good - I make this on week nights when time is short. I use Dijon mustard instead of yellow mustard and, because we like a little spice, I throw in a little chipotle powder. Yum! Thanks for the recipe.

Southern Pimento Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2013
Outstanding! I love spicy pimento cheese spread and this recipe is a keeper. I just pulsed everything in the food processor being careful not to over mix it so that it had some texture and it took seconds. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Peanut Noodles

Nice recipe! I used Vidalia onions (all I had), added sautéed chopped garlic, chunky peanut butter, and a chopped orange bell pepper. Also used hot sesame oil and rice vinegar. Love it. Thanks.

Easy Slow Cooker Meatballs

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2013
Great way to make spaghetti & meatballs. I can't help but mess with recipes and I did this one, too. I made the meatballs pretty much as the recipe said but I added chopped carrot, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, & herbs to the sauce. Finished it with a little cream at the end to make it a little Bolognese-like. I also recommend cooking these for only 6 hours on low. They were wonderful. Thanks for the recipe. I'll be making this again soon.

President Ford's Braised Eye Round Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2012
Excellent! This is an easy and hearty dish. I added some whole peeled garlic cloves to the sauce and I let the whole dish simmer slowly for almost 2 hours. We like it served over rice or mashed potatoes. Thanks for the recipe.

Pesto, Goat Cheese, and Sun-dried Tomatoes Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
Great! I didn't have any pesto so I increased the amount of goat cheese (too much is NEVER enough), used four eggs, a bit more half-and-half, and added chopped artichokes and a bit of herbes de Provence. Thanks.

Double Chocolate Pie

Excellent! The texture of a cream pie with the taste of a fudge pie. I added a meringue for extra decadence. Thanks for the recipe.

Indian Tandoori Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
Excellent! We made this for supper yesterday and I kept going back for more. I used only chicken thighs because they always come out so moist - even when grilled. Thanks for the recipe - I've been looking for a good Tandoori Chicken recipe for a long time.

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: May 21, 2010
I made this last night to cover a friend's bridal shower cake and it's wonderful. I have made MANY fondant recipes but this one is the easiest to make, the easiest to work with, and the tastiest. I made a three-tiered cake in shades of peach - the middle tier is a combination of the shades blended together. It's gorgeous! This is my new go-to fondant recipe. Thanks for posting it.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
I made this today since I was craving chicken & dumplings but forgot to thaw my whole chicken last night. I used frozen, thawed boneless chicken breasts and chunked them up before cooking. I used dry white wine and chicken broth in place of the water and added poultry seasoning, thyme, freshly ground pepper, and dried pepper flakes and I made my own dumplings (worth the trouble since they're my favorite part of c & d). I only had to cook the dumplings about 35-40 minutes. EXCELLENT! I hope there is some left by suppertime! A definite do-again! Thanks.

Soft Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
Absolutely wonderful - not too sweet and so soft and chewy! I made them "drop-style", just like the recipe called for but I used a small scoop and made them smaller. I also iced them with a vanilla and almond extract buttercream. Highly recommended!

Pot Roast, Vegetables, and Beer

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2013
Cooked a 3 lb chuck roast from frozen for 1 hour in a pressure cooker using this recipe. I added some Worcestershire sauce and omitted the veggies except some onion. It was wonderful. What can go wrong when you use beer, garlic, and Dijon mustard??? Thanks for the recipe.

Pecan Pie IV

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2015
Wonderful and easy. I used light corn syrup, decreased the nuts to a heaping cup, increased the butter to 4 Tbsp, and added a splash of bourbon in place of the vanilla. This is a good base for English Walnut Pie and what can't be legally called Derby Pie (1/2 c chopped nuts and 1/2 c chocolate chips). It's a keeper. Thanks, Earthymom!
