Cumin-Coriander Pork Rub

It was good, maybe a tablespoon less of cumin next time. I added a bit of Splenda (or sugar)to taste, which was a nice addition. As Karen mentioned, lime would be nice added with this too. Thanks.

Vanilla Brownies

My 13 year old made these and they were really good. I left her to her own devices, she baked them in an 11 x 8 glass baking dish instead of the jellyroll pan. It took longer for them to bake, but they were chewy with a nice vanilla flavor. She didn't have chocolate chips. I'm not sure I would add them, it might be too rich and sweet, they are sweet without the chips, and would kill the notion of being vanilla. They were great just the way my daughter made them. Thanks!

Barbecue Ribs

The ribs were good.... I like a little sweetness, but this was a bit too sweet for me, I should have known from looking at the amount of sugar. I too, boiled the ribs instead of baking, then grilled, and they were nice and tender. Needs some tweaking, less sugar, something's missing... Don't get me wrong, they were still good. Thanks

Basic Cookie Mix

I like this stuff! It's so simple my 11 an 13 year old kids have been using it with the Basic Chocolate Drop recipe. They can make their own when they beg for sweets. Very economical, I finally found a use for that powdered milk thats been sitting up in my cabinet. The cookies are nothing fancy but taste very good for the modest ingredients. I think the kids can try the peanut butter ones next.

Basic Chocolate Drop Cookies

Nothing fancy, but these taste very good, especially for the modest ingredients. This pre made mix is great, economical, handy to have around for the kids. Someone gave me some powdered milk, had no idea what I was going to do with it, now I found a use! Watch out when spacing the cookies, they do spread out. Can't wait to try the other recipes for the cookie mix. Thanks!

Beer Batter Fish Fillets

I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because this needed some playing around with to make it just right. I omitted the dill, don't care for it, and used seasoning suggested by Suzinohio. Adding a bit more baking powder was a good suggestion too. As far as the amount of liquid, just add gradually until you have the right batter consistancy. After the adjustments, my husband loved this batter with walleye and onion rings.

Peanut Butter Haystacks

After getting tired of trying 5 star recipes that are actually 1 to 3 star recipes, I decided to make this old favorite. My mom made these when I was a kid, SOOO GOOD, and best of all, VERY, VERY easy to make! My husband's eyes lit up when he tried one, kids loved them. This one is a quick, delicious, reliable standby.

Super Duper Chocolate Cookies

WAY TOO DRY, texture was like sawdust, and not much flavor. Husband was not pleased. I was ashamed of these cookies and I consider myself a reasonably good baker. Will never make again!

Easy Chicken Rice Casserole

Was easy and edible, but my family was definately not enthusiastic about eating this dish. I had to force them to finish off the leftovers. Mild was an understatement, bland would better describe this meal. Will not make again.

Best Ever Jalapeno Poppers

365 degrees deep fry for 2-3 minutes is NOT enough time. Wish I would had read other posters suggestings to scald the jalapeno peppers in hot water first. Jalapenos came out undercooked. A disappointing disaster.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

This was good, but to me, nothing special. It was surprising that the fish was a bit on the bland side. I guess I prefer to cook tilapia with butter mixed with fresh roasted garlic and sundried tomatoes and I don't broil it. Guess I will go back to doing it that way. This is still a good, easy recipe, but I probably won't make it again.

Blueberry Dump Cake

My husband and kids went BONKERS for this recipe! My mother made something similar with pinapple and cherries when I was a child, haven't had it since then. I had fresh blueberries that needed to be used up and I felt nastolgic after reading this recipe... this was delicious!!! I took Snocu's advice from the reviews and did not melt the butter, but sliced it thin and made a layer over top. I added fresh lemon juice from half a lemon and a bit of nutmeg to the berries. I also used Betty Crocker's Moist French Vanilla cake mix. My husband and children DEMANDED that I make it again! Thanks!

Creamy Blueberry Pie

This was good, for a change. I think I prefer regular blueberry pie to this. If I make this again, I would probably add a bit of lemon juice. I like my pies a little more tart. I would also try brown sugar instead of white to try for a richer flavor. Maybe needs more topping too. Don't get me wrong, this was a good pie, but it needs a little something to make it 5 star, in my opinion.

Oven Fried Chicken III

I drastically changed the recipe... I never heard of using mayonaise to help coat the chicken, I used this method and it was excellent with a flour and my personal seasoning. I'm sure it is just as excellent with the original ingredients and I will try it. I usually don't keep bread crumbs on hand. Thanks for the inspiration!

Raspberry Pie II

This was delicious! I liked the brown sugar with the raspberries. Everyone ate it up! I had a ten inch pie shell, so I doubled the recipe and used 3 tablespoons of flour instead of the corn starch (I don't like the cornstarch taste). It was perfect. Don't use frozen, grocery store, freezer section berries for this recipe. They are too moist, you don't want to use raspberries frozen in a solid block, not good for pies. Make this pie with fresh berries, when they are in season. Or use your carefully home frozen, fresh picked berries (Freeze fresh berries on a cookie sheet and transfer to a freezer bag after they are frozen, Do this within a day, don't freezer burn the berries. This way you don't have a big nasty frozen block of berries:) Good old fashioned recipe, will make again!
