Loaded Potato Soup I

I did make some changes based on preference, but this was fantastic! After adding the milk, I added 2 chopped garlic cloves and 2 veg bouillon cubes. And I substituted dried chives for the onion. Very, very good, and very versatile. Thanks!

Green Bean Okazu

Very interesting dish. I made it and my husband and I weren't crazy about it, but the more you eat of it, the more you like it! I will make it again but with less sugar next time. Update: I was out of green beans so I made it with broccoli, 1/2 Tbs of brown sugar, half an onion, and some spicy pepper paste. Wow! Very good.

Pumpkin Bars I

Very good. Baked mine a 9x9 square and added only a bit of nutmeg. Super delicious. I am making this again to take to a potluck tomorrow. I have no doubt that it'll be a success.

Deluxe Waffles

Too eggy for my tastes (that's all they tasted like!). The batter was very runny, so they turned out rather thin. I would have expected loftier waffles with the extra step of folding in whipped egg whites. Won't make again.

Best Carrot Cake Ever

Basic Cream Cheese Frosting

Butter Cookies II

Very good! I ran out of regular flour, so 2/3 cup was whole wheat. I chilled the dough in thirds, and rolled it out for cookie cutters. Then, I sprinkled cinnamon/sugar over the cookies before baking. They needed 6 minutes at 400 degrees. SO DELICIOUS.

Gumbo Style Chicken Creole

Changes made: Skipped the frying step and put it all in the crockpot. Used hot turkey sausage instead of chicken. Added 1 cup broth and 1 cup frozen okra. Next time, I'll use less onion since that flavor took over the dish. EDIT: Made the dish more as written the second time with the roux on the stove. We much preferred the crockpot version.

Chicken with Asparagus and Roasted Red Peppers

Used Brussels sprouts instead of asparagus (the asparagus was nasty at the store), fresh red pepper, and only 2 chicken breasts. Served over whole grain rotini pasta. Very tasty dish. The Brussels sprouts needed a bit more cooking.

Chicken Enchiladas V

I used half a can of green enchilada sauce instead of the chiles, and it turned out very well, though a little rich for our tastes. I will leave out the sour cream and use a full can of sauce next time.

This was my first bread attempt, and they came out awesome! I did have to google the correct temperature that the liquids should be before adding the yeast, otherwise the recipe was great!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

The cookie dough was very crumbly, so the cookies were more crispy than soft. Also, I found that smooshing them with a fork before baking just made them crack, so I ended up smooshing when they were in the oven. Despite all of this, these cookies were VERY good! Will make again

Baked Salmon II

Very, very good! I used the marinade with 1 1/2 pounds of salmon and it was still strongly flavored. The only change that I might make next time is to cut the salt in half. I asked my husband if I should make this again and his response was "as much as possible!"

Really easy and good. They held together very nicely. I'll make a few changes to suit our tastes next time (more salt, cilantro instead of parsley, some hot pepper sauce), but this recipe is going into our rotation!
