Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2000
Making this bread was the 1st time I had ever made a bread that actually called for yeast. Let me tell you this turned out awesome. VERY easy to make and tasted absolutely wonderful. I looked at numerous bread recipes on this site before I came across this one. The other recipes seemed too complicated or took too long to make. This one was perfect though. Thank you for submitting it!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2000
These cookies are fabulous and just the way I like them--soft and chewy in the middle and crisp around the edges. I added milk chocolate chips instead of semisweet and I also added 1/2 tsp of kosher salt. We all loved them.

Miami Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2001
I was very disappointed that I wasted my precious ingrediants on this recipe. The cookies turned out to be cakey. Also, they didn't taste like much more than dough or flour. Even my cookie fanatic 4 yr old son wouldn't eat them.

Peach Cobbler II

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2001
This was the 1st time that I have ever made a cobbler and it was GREAT. My husband is a cobbler fanatic and he said this was the best he has ever had. Crust was delicious. Will make again again. Perfect for other fruits too!

Garlic Green Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2001
This was the 1st recipe I tried from the All Recipes" cookbook. I normally don't like green beans that much, but these turned out to be great and very easy to make.

Praline Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2001
I found this recipe in the "Tried and True" Cookbook and I 1st thought the butter amt of 1/4 POUND was a typo. I thought they meant 1/4 cup, but I made it as directed and there was so much butter when this was done that the sweet potato part seemed to be swimming in grease. I then found the recipe on the website and it still said 1/4 lb. That is WAY too much butter for this recipe and it wasn't even very good. I will not make this again. Be careful if you are on a low-fat diet.

Ham and Swiss Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2002
My husband and I both really liked this. With the ham, swiss cheese and egg mixture, it really tastes a lot like quiche. Very good.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies I

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2002
These were great Oatmeal raisin cookies. The only thing I would do different is grease the baking sheet 1st. Mine tended to stick to my ungreased-nonstick sheet.

Eclair Cake

Reviewed: May 1, 2002
I don't know what went wrong, but the pudding mixture never set and was very runny. Almost like there was too much milk. This ruined the cake because the graham crackers became soggy. The flavor was very good.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: May 4, 2002
I agree with the 15 yr old who posted below that there are better chocolate chip cookie recipes out there.I didn't think these were very good. I am not into cake-like cookies and this recipe was just that. My search continues for the ultimate chocolate chip cookie.

Creamy Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2002
I am not sure what the reave is over this coleslaw. We are coleslaw lovers and this was the worst I have ever made. Very bland and not sweet. You have to make sure you get a raisin in each bite in order to give it any hint of flavor.

Hot Mexican Spinach Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2002
This was great! I made this a day after I had a wisdom tooth removed and it was so good my sore mouth did not stop me from eating it. Also, I used a brand of salsa that was a little watery. Next time, I will use a thicker salsa so it won't be as runny.

Casablanca Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2002
This was certainly different and good for a change, but I think I will stick with the more traditional chili recipes. Not something I would make again because it had too much of a "nutty" taste.
