Cheesy Italian Tortellini

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
I found the taste to be just average for this recipe. My family didn't care too much for the flavor. It was on the bland side.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
This fudge was really good. Better than many that I have bought at chocolate shops. It does not have that fake chocolate taste like many fudges I have made. It would also make a very good fudge icing. VERY good!!

Dave's Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
This coleslaw was extremely pickely and that is saying a lot because I like pickles. Something about the creaminess, and sweetness along with the pickles did not agree with my tastebuds. To me, the ingredients did not mesh together well.

Coleslaw I

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
In a word: odd. I felt there was too much vinegar and sugar used. I would not make again.

Crazy Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
Too much trouble for below par results. I was the only one in my house who tried this cake and I ended up thowing 3/4 of it away. Not that good, IMO.

Sweet Corn Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
These were average corn cakes at best. I have tried better recipes.

Salsa Ninety Nine (Mild)

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
The use of tomato paste in this salsa gave it a weird texture. In addition, the taste was just "blah". Nothing special.

Fettuccine Alfredo V

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
My 5 year old daughter loves fettucinne alfredo and said this was the best I had made. I added chicken and broccoli. Yummy!

Cabbage Rolls III

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
I did as another reviewer recommended and cooked in tomato juice and added tomato sauce, but I still found this recipe to be bland.

Spam™ and Napa Cabbage

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2009
This was good! I would use just a little less soy sauce, as this was just a tad too salty. I even used lite soy sauce and SPAM. I would make again--very simple.

Thai Red Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
This recipe was average at best for Thai red curry chicken. For more authentic taste, add some Thai Basil leaves in place of the cilantro.

Casa Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
I used buttermilk in place of milk, added a little onion powder, slightly more black pepper and I also added homemade salsa that had cilantro in it. The taste was just what I was expecting. Worked great over spinach leaves.

Ground Chicken Gumbo

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
Unfortunately, this recipe as it is is very bland. Please don't make this expecting authentic New Orleans results because you will be disappointed. Needs more kick. The tsp of cajun seasonings must get absorbed up in the rice and/or diluted in the chicken broth. Whatever, the case I won't be making this one again.

Fried Okra

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
Loved it! Fried okra is supposed to have a gritty texture (which this did), but I did add about 1/4 cup of flour. I also added way more salt and especially pepper and onion powder, as I love flavor. I added a small amount of milk to the egg (as others mentioned) and let the thawed frozen okra soak. I then added the okra to the dry mixture and added to the hot oil with a slotted spoon. These were great in ketsup like we have at Cracker Barrel.

Pita Chips

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2008
I liked these, but I should of used regular olive oil like the recipe called for. I used EVOO and it was too overpowering. Otherwise, these are good pita chips. Even my picky 11 year old enjoyed them.

Jerk Seasoning

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
This was a good substitute for bottled jerk seasoing since it is not available to buy in my area. My only complaint was I thought the cinnamon was a little over-powering and I would cut back on that next time.

Cheesy Baked Eggplant

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
My husband and I like this eggplant dish, but it was not appealing to the kidos, due to the eggplant and spinach leaves. Very flavorful.

Roasted Garlic Tyrokavteri

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
This spread was tasty with the crusty bread. I took this to a Greek themed dinner and it went over pretty well. I only used 4 oz of Feta cheese and I think that was plenty.
