German Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
I used 5 good sized MacIntosh apples and I also added a touch of nutmeg. Very good! Very moist, loads of apples, full of flavor. Topped it with Caramel frosting from this web site. Delish!

Spanish Rice Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
Excellent! Very filling. I did not have chili sauce but I did have a can of chili beans which I added without draining. My husband loved it! Update: I always use chili beans in it...just love it with beans!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2008
Yummy, yum, yum! This is our new favorite! I used to make Amusement Park Cornbread that I believe is from this site....not anymore. If you do not like a moist cornbread do not try this recipe (I have met many people here in SC that like their cornbread dry, yuck) Thank you for a great recipe!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
I was iffy on the combo of flavors but wowee-wow-wow! I served this at our house church tonight and the entire pot was gone with great compliments. I increased everything and boiled the potatoes and celery in the chicken broth. (made with chicken base) The only thing I did not increase was the flour/butter/milk combo. Great recipe! Thanks for a winner!

Bacon Quiche Tarts

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
Wonderful! I have made these with cooked bacon and also with real bacon bits. The bacon bits speed up the process and are just as good. I also have used dried minced onion when I do not have scallions. Our guests love, love, love! Thanks for a keeper!

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2007
This is a very good, healthy soup. My husband and I enjoyed the flavor and although our 4 kids (7,6,3&2) ate it, they didn't care for all the vegetables :-). I used fresh green beans and frozen spinach. I would not add any spinach at all the next time. And I did add a bit of cauliflour. Thank you for the recipe!

Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2006
These are just like bakery bagels! I made 6, not 9 from the recipe as is. I also made 1 and 1/2 the recipe the second time to make 9 good sized bagels. We added poppy seeds, sesame seeds, onion flakes and oatmeal to make a variety. Served them to some overnight guests and they loved them. YUM! Thank you!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

This is almost the exact recipe my mother passed down to me. She used to bake it in coffee cans. This bread is so moist and flavorful! I give it away this time of year as a fall treat.
