Orange Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2007
These muffins were just "ok" for me. I followed the recipe exactly and they just came out rather bland. Not alot of orange flavor to them. The topping was very yummy but the rest of the muffin was just... there. I thought the walnuts would add enough texture but they just didnt for me, and I added extra! I will try these again and most likely add some cranberries soaked in orange juice... I think they would really bump this recipe.

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2007
Super easy and super tasty. I made one batch exactly as the recipe states and then another with walnuts stirred in and ontop... walnuts gave it an extra bit of texture that put them over the top. I also sprinkled a tad bit of brown sugar ontop as others suggested. I wouldnt make them without that!

Banana Muffins with a Crunch

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2007
These were absolutely delicious! I wasnt a fan of the banana chips taste after they baked but otherwise this was great. I used half all purpose and half wheat flour. I also used half white sugar and half brown sugar. The only thing I would change when I make these again is put maybe a mix of coconut and granola on top for that extra crunch instead of the banana chips.

Savory Breakfast Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2007
I used ham instead of bacon as some others suggested and mixed in some chedder cheese... otherwise I followed the recipe. They were good but I think maybe a touch more salt and maybe some green onion would make these 5 star savory muffins!

My husband and I loved this ham. I was worried it might be too sweet but it was just perfect.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2007
Very easy and very tasty! I cooked this in a dutch oven and the chicken turned out wonderful. I would definatly recommend the extra 2 hours after pulling the chicken to really let the flavors absorb into the meat. I used 4 chicken breasts (since you can never find packages of less :) so I used the beer but also added a cup of chicken stock. I added an extra can of beans (pinto). Alot of soup but it will definatly dissapear quickly!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2006
I was very pleasantly surprised by how delicious these were. I'm a big fan of using all fresh ingredients and not canned adds with meals so I was a little wary with the mushroom soup but I was not dissapointed. The only difference I made was using savory garlic and herb breading for the chops and lots of fresh quartered mushrooms in the gravy. Wonderful...

Long Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2006
Thoroughly enjoyed this light and easy to make soup. I changed a few things. First adding some very thinly sliced carrots (lengthwise) and thinly sliced mushrooms. I sauteed all the veggies including the green onions and the ginger with the pork. Turned out delicious!

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2006
I loved this soup... so simple and yummy. I changed a few things to suit my tastes, as I prefer some veggies in my soups. I did as some others suggested and used a precooked chicken. I sauteed some diced onion, minced fresh garlic and thinly sliced celery in some of the chicken juices, white wine, seasonings and butter. I boiled some carrots and diced them then added to the mix. As some others suggested, I used the 1 can cream of chicken 1 cream of celery and loved it! My husband raved and gobbled up the leftovers in no time.

Greek Green Beans

I think I was expecting more flavor than there was. It was different, but didnt knock my socks off. Not bad... but not what I was expecting.

Sesame Beef

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2005
Absolutely delicious and very simple. Like a few others I sprinkled in a touch of red pepper flake. I also stir fried with very thinly sliced onion and served over steamed rice - might add some carrot next time. Made some snow peas to accompany. Very good, very easy meal.

Fresh Vegetable Stir-Fry with Peppery Orange Beef

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2005
I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because like a few others, I agree the teriyaki with the orange sauce was a bit overboard. I will make this again but I think I will just try some basic stir fry veggies rather than the cabbage. I didnt care for the veggies once it was all said and done but the beef was absolutely amazing. The orange sauce was simply spectacular.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2005
This has become the only meatloaf I make! My husband loves it. The sweet glaze over this falvorful loaf is what makes it. This is one of very few recipes I dont feel like I have to alter in the least.

Garden Pork Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2005
Tasty, healthy and very easy to make. I changed it just a tad because I dont care for bell pepper. Instead of the bell pepper I added julienne style squash and water chestnuts as well as some fresh sliced garlic. Definatly worth making again.

Incredibly easy and incredibly good! One of my favorite soups I make now and very easy. I use some grape tomatos for extra tangy flavor. Big hit with the husband too.

Lindsay® Olive Tea Sandwiches

I made 4 types of tea sandwiches for a function and these were gone in minutes. HUGE hit! I had no pine nuts so I added some crushed, roasted almonds instead and still tasted wonderful.

Mulligatawny Soup I

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2005
This soup was fabulous! Only thing I changed was I pureed the apple before putting it in because my husband hates fruit in his food. Not only did it hide the apple chunks but thickened the soup up nicely. He loved the soup and raved about it.. no idea there was apple in it!
