Rice Cooker Crawfish Tails

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2012
I omitted the bell peppers and added celery. I also do not have a rice cooker, so I just sauteed the onions and celery in the butter until soft, then added the everything else to the skillet, covered, and simmered until the liquid was absorbed. After tasting, I decided to add some garlic powder and turmeric. It was excellent, and I will make again. Thanks!

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2007
I made it exactly as recipe states. It was pretty good, but next time I won't add quite as much ketchup. I liked it best served on top of cornbread instead of in buns. The best part was how simple it was to make!

Gravy Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
After reading the reviews I followed the advice and made the following changes: I used 1 can cream of mushroom and 1 can of golden mushroom with 2/3 cups milk and no water. I also sauteed garlic and onions with the pork chops. Turned out great. Will make often.

Aunt Cora's World's Greatest Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
Seriously these are so good! I used butter instead of margerine; that's just a personal preference of mine. Everything else I did as written. I don't like peanut butter cookies, but I love these. Will make again and again!

Fifteen Minute Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
I browned the chicken and then cooked everything in the crockpot on low all day. It was wonderful! I don't even really like beans, but I liked them in this recipe. I will make this often.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
I was nervous to make this because it just seemed too simple, but it really is good. I use cheap biscuit dough, and just cut it into bite sized pieces with my kitchen shears right over the pot. The only thing I do differently is add garlic powder. I cannot praise this recipe enough--it's fast and easy and great to have on a chilly night. Thanks!

Grilled Venison Backstrap

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
I marinated in apple cider 2 hours then Lowry's garlic and herb with lemon juice for a couple of hours. I liked it, and my husband and father-in-law LOVED it. They raved about it all night. Can't wait to get more backstrap to make it again.

Roasted Potatoes with Greens

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
I love this dish. I never have fresh rosemary on hand, so I use dried, and I just kind of eyeball it. I never have any leftovers of this.

Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
I made this as a side dish to go with pork and then we ate the leftovers at breakfast the next day. Both were wonderful. I made it exactly as written, and it turned out just great!

Blackened Green Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
I made this in the crock pot and it was great! I used the exact measurements in the recipe and it was really good, but you could cut the bacon by half and it would still be fine I think.

Chipotle Crusted Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
I am Cajun and love spicy foods. My husband doesn't love spicy as much as me. So I cut the chipotle to 2T, thinking that would be fine. I almost killed my poor husband! Even I thought it was still a little too spicy. I will use probably 1T next time. It was very good though, and even though DH's eyes were watering and he was drinking milk to try to cut the spice, he still ate it and liked it.

Easy Venison Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
This wasn't bad, but not great either in my opinion. We ate it, but I won't make again without some modifications, like maybe adding mushrooms as others have suggested, along with more seaonings. It was easy to make though, so that was nice.

Savory Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2006
This was pretty good, but next time I will probably add onions or mushrooms, because it was just a little bland for my taste. The leftovers were better the next day though. It was so easy to make, and I will make again. Thanks!

Spicy Italian Pork Cutlets

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2006
The sauce had a wonderful flavor. It did take longer than a couple of minutes for it to thicken, but it was worth it. I will use the sauce on chicken, pasta, and whatever else I think of in the future. I didn't have a fresh tomato on hand, so I used half a can of diced tomatoes that I drained. Turned out great.

It was OK, but was missing something. If I make it again, I will add mushrooms or peas, or maybe onions.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2006
Wonderful! I used Gruyere instead of Parmesan, but other than that I followed recipe exactly. My husband and I ate all of it; there wasn't a drop left. If it wasn't so fattening I would make it once a week.

Absolute Mexican Cornbread

I halved the butter and sugar and it turned out to be great. This will be the Mexican cornbread recipe I use from now on.

Watermelon Fire and Ice Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2006
This recipe was great. I drained the watermelon and tried to keep out as much liquid as possible, but the bottom of the bowl was still pretty much all liquid. My husband and my sister both said that was their favorite part and asked me not to drain it so much next time. Made it for a family bbq and all who tried it loved it.

Crayfish Cornbread

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2006
This was OK, but the cornbread mixture came out dry and crumbly. If I make it again, I will add a little more liquid to the cornbread mixture.

Parmesan Potatoes

I thought this dish was pretty bland, even though I added more garlic, parmesan, and some other spices. I probably won't make again.
