Yum Yum Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2014
What a terrific condiment for meats, veggies, truly YUM YUM! I halved the recipe and just eye-balled the ingredients. I did add a bit more tomato paste based on the reviews. Had some simple syrup in the fridge, so I just used a drizzle for the water and sugar. A definite do-over! Served a dollop on asian burgers, great meal. This was so yummy and easy, great weeknight chicken parm recipe. I made as written, but my cutlets were thin, so I just added my hot sauce after browning and finished on the stove. Yummy do-over, for sure! Thanks for sharing your recipe with AR,

Slow Cooker Carolina Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2014
Sherri, you have a winner here! This was so delicious, and couldn't have been easier. I used a 2.2 lb boneless pork loin roast, and halved the rub ingredients for it, perfect! I used the full sauce recipe, but was out of Liquid Smoke, so I just added a shake or two of chipotle powder for a little smokiness. After shredding the pork I just used the juices in the slow cooker to moisten. YUM! Served on pretzle rolls, which hold up so nicely to the moisture. I had some Bourbon Whiskey BBQ sauce, so that went on top with some spicy dill pickles. A great sammie, hubs raved, and left overs for the freezer. Sincere thanks for sharing your recipe, a do-over for sure!

Five Spice Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2014
This is a terrific marinade for chicken. I prepared exactly as written and used thin chicken cutlets, hubby grilled them to crispy perfection! If you haven't tried five spice before, it's reminiscent of jerk seasoning, some licorice in the background, so if you don't like those flavors, this one may not be for you. But for us, a keeper! Thanks for sharing with AR.

General Mom's Dragon and Pheonix

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2014
Loved this recipe, absolutely delicious, WFDM! I modified for the two of us a bit. Marinated 1 lb chicken chunks in the morning, and thew the sauce (halved the recipe) together, too. I added some shredded carrot and sweet red pepper to the mix, and used about 8 oz shrimp. We had a delicious dinner and plenty left for the freezer. Thanks for sharing your great recipe, YUM!

Classic Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2014
This was a tasty dish for St. Patty's Day! I cheated and used prepared Bob Evans mashed potatoes, which made this a breeze to put together. Hubs loved this. Next time I might use less (or skip) the dijon, thought it came though a bit too much. Enjoyed this.

Spruced-up Zatarain's® Jambalaya

Spruced this up even more by using shallot, celery, bell pepper, and adding sausage and shrimp. I added peas and green onion, celery leaf just before finishing. Easy, semi-homemade, delish!

Sri Lanka Beef Curry

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2014
This was so delicious! Looks complicated, but really comes together easily. I could not find curry leaves, so I subbed a bit of fresh basil and a squeeze of lime. I found the pandan leaf in an asian grocery, just took several leaves and tied with kitchen string during the cooking, then removed before serving. I did americanize this for a one-pot meal, I added red pepper strips, carrot, and peas. Only used the coconut milk to blush, about 1/3 cup, the sauce was so flavorful. Thanks for sharing this delicious recipe, a do-over for sure!

Chorizo And Black Bean Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2014
This was absolutely delicious, Mike. Hubs loved this. Was a great "use up" for veggies. I followed the recipe ingredient list with a couple of small exceptions, used potatoes instead of butternut, and added a can of Rotel tomatoes with chilis, and used sofrito in place of tomato paste.. I used adobo, and did not add parsley, just cilantro. Teriffic stew, and lots of left-overs for the freezer. Thanks for sharing your personal recipe, this should be published!

Poulet de Provencal

A simple, scrumptious recipe, worthy of your company. And so simple to put together. I used thin chicken cutlets. I followed the recipe exactly, only exception was using shredded swiss for the top and finished with a drizzle of black truffle oil. Thanks for sharing your recipe, a keeper and definite do-over, for sure. Tres Bon! Manifique!

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2014
The perfect soup for a wintry day! I made a "quick" version of this for lunch today and it came out wonderfully, so delicious! I just browned the sausage until almost done and added the onion and garlic to it and finished, spooned the grease from the bottom of the pot, added all of the other ingredients (I used a 14 oz can fire roasted tomatoes & increased broth to 6 cups), and simmered for just 15 minutes or so. Added the tortellini (fresh) and in another 5 minutes, done! This is a keeper. Thank you for sharing your recipe with AR.

Smoked Salmon Vodka Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2014
Absolutely sensational, what a delicious and impressive dish. And the best part of this recipe is it's 10 minutes from start to finish! I used about 1/3 of a medium onion, and a 4oz block of black peppered salmon. I also used Absolut Peppar Vodka, and an entire 8 oz can of tomato sauce. Just added cream until the right blush appeared, about 1/3 cup. A light sprinkle of cayenne, and viola! Great recipe, fatima, sincere thanks for sharing with AR.

Sun-Dried Tomato Palmiers

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2014
These were so yummy and tasty! Instead of chopping sun dried tomatoes I just used sun dried tomato pesto, and sprinkled with the cheese. I'll bet these would be delicious with basil pesto, too. Great little appy or nibble for soup or salad. Thanks for sharing your recipe with AR. This is a keeper and a do-over for sure.

Peppered Shrimp Alfredo

Really enjoyed your recipe, JZELER. Nice, easy recipe for a weeknight. I used sun dried tomato alfredo and added some diced tomatoes, too. Skipped the added cream and cheese, just added a bit of white wine to get the right consistency. Delish!

Chef John's Ricotta Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2014
Absolutely delicious. These meatballs were light and flavorful. Definitely a new favorite. I followed the recipe exactly, well OK, I used fresh basil instead of parsley, but other than that as written. I had no problems with falling apart or sticking. I used very cold ingredients, and it's very cold here, so that probably helped. And I have a terrrifc, huge Calphalon non-stick saute pan. I added these to my recipe for Rao's Restaurant marinara. A definite do-over and a new fave. Thanks for sharing this recipe, CJ.
