Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
This is an easy recipe that people really enjoy at a get-together. I made it for a superbowl party and people appreciated having an alternative to the chips and dip, yet it still felt like it fit in. Really yummy!

Caribbean Sweet Potato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
I don't know what I was expecting, but something a little bit more than this. The dressing was good but I wanted something with a little bit more flavor

Kickin' Collard Greens

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
As a southern, I have been looking for a good "greens" recipe. This is easy and good. I am going to try it with turnip greens next.

Lettuce with Hot Bacon Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
This was too greasy for my taste. I don't think I will make it again.

Spicy Tomato Bisque with Grilled Brie Toast

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
I made the soup but not the sandwich. The soup is great. I cut down on the amount of cream cheese and left out the milk entirely. Very good.

Easy Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
This is excellent ice cream. It has a light feel in the mouth instead of some of the heavier versions. I upped the amount of peppermint extract as my family likes strong flavors. I had no problem with the miniature chips, though i do think shaved chocolate would be better.

Peanut Butter Bananas and Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2006
This recipe is wonderful. I love vinegar and the combination with the sweet bananas and the peanut butter...I made it for my toddler (she also enjoyed it) but found myself eating more than I had intended. I substituted apple cider vinegar for the white vinegar and it was great.

Emily's Famous Marshmallows

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2006
Excellent in hot chocolate! Be prepared for the intensely bad smell of the boiling gelatin. I will only make this on special occasions because the effort needed is great in comparison to buying a simple bag.

Chocolate Mint Candy Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2005
I think this pie would be better without the coffee. There is a little bit too much going on with all the flavors. Its simple to make. The only difficult thing is that you can't find a brownie mix that is 13 ounces these days which makes for a really thick "crust". Not that my guests minded too much. Next time I will leave out the coffee and see if this is better.

Giant Ding Dong Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2005
I made this for my daughter's first birthday. She and everyone else loved it. Next time I am not going to bother hollowing out the cake and instead I will sandwich the filling between the two layers. This cake is definitely worth the effort!

Blueberry Crumb Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2005
super easy to make! I halved the recipe and used an 8x8 pan, substituted butter for the shortening, and used fresh bkuberries. Do use the cinnamon, it really makes the crust.

Torta Rustica

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2005
The crust is great and easy to work with. I substituted pepperoni for the prosciutto. The next time I make it, I will be adding sauted onions and garlic to add a bit more flavor.
