About this Cook
I write a zine featuring my own vegan recipes, more information can be found at http://donteatoffthesidewalk.com
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. Nothing gives me the warm fuzzies like a batch of warm cookies. I just wish I had someone to help me eat them!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My biological family cannot cook worth a damn, which taught me everything I shouldn't do. So...thanks, mom and dad?
My cooking triumphs
I made a simple tempeh wings recipe that people go nuts over to such a degree that it embarasses me a little.
My cooking tragedies
Sometimes, things sound good in theory but flop in execution. Pumpkin hummus was a recent failure.

Instant Rolls
I was sure that these biscuits (definitely not rolls, and how anyone can look at the ingredients and think they're going to get rolls I have no idea) were going to at least have a faint hint of mayo, but they didn't. I used vegenaise, half white/half bread flour and a tsp. of baking soda (all out of baking powder), and doubled the recipe to get a dozen. Then I fed one to my mayo hating husband, and even after I told him what was in them he still liked them! I am definitely putting this on my list of regular recipes.

Italian Bread Using a Bread Machine
This bread turned out wonderfully for me. I halved the recipe to make only one loaf. The only problem I had was that I had to add more liquid during the kneading process. I used Egg Beaters for the wash and added a little bit of italian seasoning.

Jo's Rosemary Bread
I just bought my first bread machine and this was the first recipe I tried. Wonderful, but i'll agree with a previous reviewer that it's a little salty. If you have a low tolerance for salt like I do, I suggest using just a teaspoon.
