About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love, love, love to cook and give away baked goods and am always searching for an excuse to give someone a cake or cookies. Outside of that I am getting a handle on cooking main dishes. Most of what I have cooked so far is either vegetarian or chicken dishes--what a combo!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Like most people I have way too many but I've always loved Thanksgiving. I come from a small family and every year we tell ourselves we aren't going to make that much. Then at Thanksgiving dinner we look around and there's the turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, rolls, some corn, sweet potato casserole, some random jello thing, and as if that's not enough a pumpkin and chocolate pie.
My cooking triumphs
Successfully making my very first dinner...only thing bad about it was it took me two hours for 8 enchiladas!
My cooking tragedies
eewwwww! Has to be the Baked Dijon Salmon from this site. All I can say is that the cat sure was happy!

Quinoa and Black Beans
This was great and I loved the mix of quinoa and black beans. The only thing I would change is to increase the seasoning for something was missing in the flavor.

Instant Pistachio Salad
I never thought this could taste good but oddly enough I find myself craving it ever since I first had it!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
These are perfectly soft, with just the right amount of crisp on the edges. The recipe makes a ton of cookies. I halved the recipe and got about 50 cookies still. From here on out I think this will be my exclusive chocolate chip cookie recipe!
