Regular Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
I made this soup with pheasant and quail. I added a little fresh nutmeg to go with the wild taste. With the fresh veggies, garlic and onion a slow simmer hid or deleted the gamey taste of the meat. Very good.

Carrot Cake I

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2007
Excellent cake! I took it to a BBQ, and was scared taking a new recipe without trying it first. It was GREAT. I had just dug up carrots from my garden and had so many I didn't know what to do. Searching I found this recipe and am glad I did. I used the cream cheese glaze and it was wonderful. I also used my food processor to do the chore of grating the carrots for me. It took less than one minute!

Lemon Blueberry Drop Scones

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2007
The scones were perfect! The lemon flavor is a perfect compliment to the blueberries. I doubled the amount of the glaze in order to cover them all. I also didn't have fresh blueberries so I used dried, and dried-sweetened grated lemon peel. They turned out light, fluffy and moist.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake VII

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2006
I love the ideas that I read about from other comments from everyone, but I kept this one simple just as the recipe called. It turned out great. I am so busy with all of my Holiday baking that this was a real treat for my family after dinner last night. Thank you for sharing it! Maybe next time I will try adding some of the other suggestions.

Amish Cinnamon Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2005
I used 1/2 cup of oil and 1/2 cup of applesauce to cut down on fat but keep moisture, then I only made two loaves instead of three. The bread was perfect! I received rave reviews from everybody and they were asking for some of my starter on my next batch.

Chow Mein Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2005
This dish turned out wonderful. I added extra seasonings, celery seed, pepper, garlic powder, and a small dash of red pepper. Very robust, filling and aroma makes you hungry. The recipe is easy, you don't have to be exact on the amounts, it is very forgiving for the beginners is the kitchen.
