Easy Pleasy Mac N Cheesy - US Navy Style

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2012
So good!!! Hubby wanted "Velveeta Mac & Cheese" instead of my usual cheddar version. So I found this recipe, and it is EXCELLENT! Different than mine but just as delicious. Like the difference between a hamburger and a hotdog, both good just depends what you're in the mood for. I have a feeling I'll be making this one more often though :) Thank you for this yummy recipe & thank you for your service! (From an old Army wife)

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2012
I wasn't sure about this because I'm not a fan of ranch dressing, but wanted to try something different for chicken kabobs. Wow! This was great and so easy! The only change I made was dried rosemary (didn't have fresh) and fresh lemon (that I did have). I had too many green & red bell peppers so i put them on the skewers too. Excellent! Will make this again (probably tomorrow!)

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
Three words....TOO MUCH THYME! I had a feeling it was a lot, but followed the recipe anyway. I wish I had read the poorer ratings first. A pinch would have been plenty and then the soup probably would have been fine.

Super Bowl Bites

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
Very good! I also cooked the meat first on a 9x13 pan, because speading raw meat on buns sounded kind of gross. But the flavor of these was so good! I followed other reviewers and used hot dog buns cut in thirds (that way I didn't even have to go to the store, I had everything on hand) It wasn't too much onion soup mix for us, but I did have about 1 1/2 pounds of meat. Great recipe, so easy and delicious, I will make these often.

Scott Hibb's Amazing Whisky Grilled Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2010
I've never been able to grill ribs. I tend to burn them....so often that I'm pretty sure the grocery store would alert the fire department whenever I bought them! I've tried so many ways to cook them but they just didn't come out tender and delicious like in a restaurant. Well this recipe changed that! The only thing I did differently was that I used a little less chili powder on the rub. Double wrapped them in foil and put them on pans in the oven, since a couple people said they had leaks. I made the sauce exactly as written except a little more whiskey. :) This sauce is fantastic! These ribs were so tender and delicious I will make them these way from now on. Thank you for the excellent recipe!

Mom's Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: May 15, 2010
Cucumbers were 6 for a dollar this morning at my produce stand then when I got them home I wondered what I was going to do with all of them before they went bad! Searched and found this recipe. I used Splenda instead of sugar and it was yummy. I also used 1/2 mayo & 1/2 sour cream as others mentioned to lighten it up a little. This recipe is delicious! Thank you!

Awesome Egg Salad with a Kick

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
Wow, this was good! I used a little less horseradish than called for because I wasn't sure how I'd like it, but otherwise made it exactly as written. I think the ingredients mushed up with the yellows then stuffed in the whites would make a really good deviled egg too!

Ken's Perfect Hard Boiled Egg (And I Mean Perfect)

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2010
This recipe made peeling the eggs so easy. First time I've EVER made deviled eggs without having to choose the best looking whites to stuff (and give the crummy ones to the dog)! Now when family asks for deviled eggs, I won't dread it! Thank you for publishing this! We will call them "Ken's Eggs" too LOL

Appetizer Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
Nice idea for a healthier tailgate snack! I used fresh ginger and garlic in the marinade, just because I had them. Didn't have any mushrooms but had yellow & green peppers so strung those on there. I also put canned pineapple chunks on some of them. Very good recipe!

Buffalo Chicken Sliders

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
Great recipe! I wasn't too sure about so much blue cheese, but it turned out delicious. I used a 4 oz container of crumbled with about 1 1/2 pounds of cooked chicken cutlets that I shredded. I thought about making it as another reviewer mentioned, (topping with blue cheese dressing), but the melted blue cheese really does give it a nice sharp flavor. Not too overpowering, just delicious and easy! I will make these often!

Beef Bourguignonne

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
Great recipe! I made this with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans and crusty Italian bread. Hubby who NEVER eats leftovers actually requested this the next day! I also used frozen sliced mushrooms since I didn't have any fresh and it was really good.

Slow Cooker Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
Well, it was easy, that's why it gets 1 star...I notice that most people who rated this high made a lot of additions to the recipe. I made it as written. When I got home, I lifted the lid and was greeted by an unappealing aroma. I am surprised this did not turn out at all, it seemed like a good idea.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
Really good recipe, especially because it uses stuff I usually had on hand. I used canned italian tomatoes with basil, oregano & garlic already in it but still added fresh. It's so much better and almost as easy as the stuff in a jar :)

Double Peanut Butter Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
We thought this was great! I don't know what that other reviewer was talking about, my batter came out beautiful & creamy, not dry at all. Instead of frosting, I spread a thin layer of peanut butter on the cake when it was warm, then put it in the refrigerator to solidify. Then I melted some milk chocolate with a few Reese's peanut butter cups thrown in and spread that over the top of the peanut butter layer. It was really good!

Caesar Salad Supreme

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
Really great! I made it yesterday and I may make it again tonight! Everyone loved this salad. I agree with another reviewer....I will never, ever buy bottled caesar dressing again! I didn't use anchovies(because I didn't have any) but it was still excellent. I also used plain old Kraft canned parmesan but next time will use a chunk of good parm. (I usually keep some in the freezer and just grate it in the magic bullet, but happened to be out of it) Thank you for this recipe!

Darra's Famous Tuna Waldorf Salad Sandwich Filling

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
This is outstanding! I didn't have any shallots so I substituted scallions. I went right to using chicken since I had several cans in the pantry. So good! Love the crunch and the flavor! Thanks, Bunnybunny! (Funny thing....we call one of our dogs Bunnybunny! Her name is actually Honey)
