Best Ever Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
I am giving this 4 stars because the kids loved it. It is a very mild recipe and I was heavy handed with the cumin and Wor. sauce. Mild has its place though. I did omit the green bell peppers and celery because none of us care for them.

Gaye's Microwave Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
Could not be easier. It tastes as good as any fudge I have ever had. It is a little bit softer, but I like it that way. Make sure that you stir really well though.

Crunchy and yummy. I used golden raisins because of family preference.

Dijon-Tarragon Cream Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
yum. I had trouble finding enough fresh tarragon, so I used what little I had plus I added in some dried basil. I think you coulld substitute fresh basil or cilantro and have good results. I can find those herbs easier. I will try that in the future. I did double the sauce and had way more than enough. I might make some more chicken because the sauce is so good that I don't want to waste it. I used a splash of white wine to deglaze the pan. The flavor of the sauce did not really come out until I added enough salt....so don't try and skimp on the salt.

Pesto Pasta with Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2010
This is a very nice recipe for mealtime. It is hearty, flavorful and pretty easy. I pounded chicken flat and laid the pieces on top of the pasta. My husband had seconds and my picky daughter ate all of her chicken.

Arkansas Green Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
This one is the keeper for our family. We have been looking for a green bean holiday recipe for years. Next time I will pull out the bacon and crisp it up and crumble it in the beans and I might add some french fried onions. The recipe is a 5 star as it is though. Thanks!

Tater Tot Casserole I

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
Rave reviews for this at my house. I used regular sausage, then just mixrd up a bunch of eggs with a little cream and layered it over the cheese until it was even. I used the disc shaped tots and cooked them about 10 minutes before adding them.

Corn Casserole III

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
I love this dish. I do have to cook it a bit longer depending on which oven I am using. I like to sprinkle paprika across the top at the end of cooking to make the dish look a bit more colorful. I have used several brands of cornbread and it is always good.

Holly Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
Super yummy. I remember these from my childhood. I used a 10 oz bag and just kept adding food coloring and then corn flakes until I liked the consistency. I made little holly bushes instead of wreaths because they were easier. I also used m&ms (red) for the berries because we don't care for cinnamon candy. They look beautiful and unfortunately I can't seem to stop eating them!

Pearl Baked Cream Onions

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
Excellent. I have been looking for this recipe or Thanksgiving for years. This is the keeper. Because of space issues in the oven, I had to bake it the night before, reheat in the microwave then freshen up the crust with a few more crackers and butter for a last crisp in the oven. It was the first dish to go. Even my 10 year old loved it. I will also try adding some garlic for an Italian flare during the year.

Jammin' Jerk Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2005
Very good and very easy.. recipe is a keeper. For leftovers I plan on adding the chicken to a salad or with tortillas and maybe a lime sauce for fun. I did double the recipe though and still barely had enough for 3 breasts...
