Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2010
A great sauce! I made shredded roast beef, and used this as the sauce for BBQ beef sandwiches.

Spinach Cheese Tortellini

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2010
Very good ~ I rated only 4 stars for the recipe as is. I'll definitely make it again, but when making the cream cheese sauce, sautee quite a bit of minced garlic in butter before adding the other ingredients.

Mexican Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2010
Delicious and easy! I made this salad the night before I needed it to let the flavors develop, and it was just fantastic. I was out of cumin, but the dressing was still wonderfully tangy and complimented the cilantro, onion, and bell pepper flavors wonderfully! Love it!

Mom's Country Gravy

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
There's nothing like good country gravy--I grew up making this for our traditional ranch meals. Other reviewers have mentioned using butter, and/or the drippings from sausage or bacon, which I do. This recipe is also fantastic to use with fried chicken drippings. (I do my chicken in butter, with a simple flour, salt, and pepper breading, and bake to finish cooking.) My trademark ingredient for this recipe is to use Lawry's Seasoned Salt in place of regular salt.

Bacon Wrapped Dates Stuffed with Blue Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
These are so good, and so easy. We used prosciutto instead of bacon, and drizzled them with a warm honey and balsamic vinegar mixture before cooking in the oven. Everyone loved them!

Garlic Cheese Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
I followed the recipe, but the dough seemed somewhat dry, so I added about 1/3 cup of mayonnaise. They turned out perfect! Very moist and rich.

Honey-Garlic Glazed Meatballs

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
Very, very good. I followed the recipe exactly, and my husband commented several times how good they are, even as leftovers. The honey sauce is rather rich, and as a main dish, I might reduce the honey and add more ketchup depending on who I was cooking for. As they are, they would be perfect appetizers or party food if made small and served with toothpicks.

Delicious Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
Very easy to make, and easily adaptable. In a pinch, I am sure canned chicken would also work. The mixture of soup, sour cream, and broth was delicious, but was a little too liquidy, and the rice didn't thicken it enough, so I added garlic & herb flavored bread crumbs. I also added cooked frozen vegetables, and the result tasted like a very good pot pie, without the hassle of an actual pie crust.
