Bob's Awesome Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
I opted out of the ground beef and substituted a can of black olives and a can of mushrooms that I minced. I added a little extra sauce as per other recommendations. My problem was that I did not have very much cottage cheese or mozzarella for each of the layers. I backed for a 1/2 hour covered and 1/2 hour uncovered. I thought it was very good and my fiance liked it too. It was good and not too difficult to make but it didn't really "wow" me either.

Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2006
This soup was amazing. I made several adjustments after reading a handful of other chicken soup recipes. I substitued chicken broth for the water and the bouillon cubes. I doubled the vegetables and noodles which were whole wheat. I put in some green onions, fresh parsley, whole garlic cloves, and poultry seasoning. It had great flavor and wonderful consistency.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2005
I served this recipe to a about 12 people this evening and everyone loved it. I didn't think it required too much time either. I recommend tenderizing the chicken breasts with a mallet of sorts before inserting the ham and cheese, it made them flatter and easier to work with. The wine sauce was great and the flour/paprika coating was just right. Definitely a keeper.

Divine Asparagus

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2005
This recipe wasn't bad and people were intrigued with the combination of raisins and asparagus but I didn't think it had enough flavor. I guess I was hoping for more taste out of the raisins and wine and garlic combination. The asparagus did come out nice and tender though.

Spinach and Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2005
I substituted frozen blueberries for the strawberries and added some of the juice from the blueberries once they thawed to the dressing. It was delicious and I got a lot of compliments. The salad overall was on the sweet side but it certainly wasn't sickening and I thought it was a perfect balance with the spinach.

Buckeye Cookies II

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2005
I needed a lot more chocolate to coat all the peanut butter wads I had rolled which were an absolute mess. The mixture just doesn't get firm or allow you to work it into spherical balls. I ended up with chocolate peanut butter blobs. I wasn't that crazy about the taste either. I've had other people's buckeyes that have had a much more balanced flavor.
