Crustless Cheese Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
I love this recipe! I've made as directed with great results. This last time I used skim milk and completely forgot the butter, I was shocked that they still came out fine! I also have made mini-quiches out of these with about 25 mins cook time. Excellent and versatile!

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
So very good! Tips I found helpful: Definitely grease that pan, you don't want to leave one morsel of goodness stuck to this pan. The 'sauce' can be reduced to half and there was no taste difference in using diet soda. Did I say these were so very good? Everyone RAVED about these.

Chicken Pot Pie II

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
I really loved this recipe! It's so nice to have a recipe that does not call for a can of soup! I did increase the sauce ingredients slightly to make more 'gravy', as we served this with mashed potatoes. I used a 2 qt baking dish and used packaged pie crust for the top and bottom. I used canned peas & carrots. This recipe is a keeper, thank you!

Red River Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
Very good recipe! I also used about half the onion and fresh mushrooms. Instead of beef broth I used a packet of dry brown gravy mix made with 1 1/2 cups water. This was perfect!

Butternut Squash Ravioli with Sage-Brown Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
This review is just for the sauce. This is the most suggested sauce for Butternut Squash ravioli that I saw, and obviously for good reason. I bought a package of (Monterey) ravioli's that were delicious but this sauce made them excellent! Make sure to use unsalted butter and extra sage! Thanks for the recipe!

Tiny Pecan Tarts

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
Ok so I totally screwed these up and they were still awesome!!! Started to prepare the pecans and realized I had no brown sugar!! I substituted with some maple syrup and white sugar. I filled the shells a little too much and they got a bit crispy, but I like them that way. I thought I'd have to dump them all but they turned out really good....can't wait to make again with the right ingredients! Oh, I did use all the cream cheese and about 2 1/4 cups flour. So good! Thank you for this excellent recipe!

Layered Peppermint Bark

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
I would love to give this five stars because it got a lot of compliments. I think I did a few things wrong. I should have used a bigger cookie sheet to spread this very thin, I thought it was too thick. The bottom layer of white did not stick, but I served it with just the top two and they ate it. People commented that the chocolate 'ganache' was yummy. I will try this again.

Pretzel Turtles

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
Boy everyone loves these! I am in a cookie exchange and I'm not a great baker, I do everything I can do avoid baking! These are so easy and look great on the tray! I also used the square pretzels, dove chocolates and put the raw pecan on top, baked for about 5-6 minutes and pressed down gently after baking. So good! Thank you!

Beef Tenderloin Steaks Topped with Horseradish and Dijon Mustard

Tantalizing Turkey and Blue Cheese Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
I didn't have this recipe with me so I tried to complete by memory. Well my memory left out the egg whites. I felt that the oil added the wetness I needed and I probably only used 2 tablespoons. I left out the jalapenos intentionally, however I think they would've added a nice kick and will use next time. These meatballs were great! Served with pasta florentine one night and then had meatball sandwiches the next day! These meatballs are good enough to eat alone, very tasty! Thank you for this recipe!

Maine Lobster Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
Very good recipe. Very, very rich though! I also could not get my hands on that amount of lobster meat for a decent price so I used crab claw meat and shrimp. I did add more spinach as it cooks away quickly. I used the 'quick and easy alfredo sauce' recipe from this site. Again,it was very rich but very decadent.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
This is definitely quick and easy and way better than any store bought brand, even the pricey ones. Still not 'real' alfredo. My parmesan clumped a little, maybe my sauce was too hot when I added it? Otherwise, the flavor was great and I will try this again. I did use fresh garlic added to the butter and some fresh basil at the end, a very good versatile recipe.

Cherry Tomatoes Filled with Goat Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
Very good recipe and easy to modify! I used a knife to clear the cherry tomatoes and used a baggie with a corner cut off as a pastry bag. I used some prepared cheese spread and mixed in some blue cheese. Yum! I'm going to try this with grape tomatoes as well.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
Everyone loved this! Even the ones who said they didn't like coleslaw. I also omitted the poppy seeds and used regular mayo...not Miracle Whip (bleh!) I used a head of green and red cabbage with about 2 carrots and doubled the sauce amount. Great recipe!!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
I got rave reviews on this. I made this in a crockpot during vacation using 3 lbs pork roast (not tenderloin), due to kitchen restrictions I did not transfer to a cast iron skillet I just put it back in the crockpot, it was delicious but I will try the oven next time!

Blue Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms with Grilled Onions

Reviewed: May 18, 2009
Yum! I put the sliced onions on the bottom of heavy aluminum foil. I put the stuffed mushrooms carefully on top. I created a foil pack that I placed on the grill and did not turn over. A couple of the mushrooms did leak cheese but the combination of flavors was awesome! Served with grilled steak and potatoes!

Bellyful of Barbecued Bananas

Very good, I used nutmeg and cinnamon and added a bit of rum to mimic bananas foster. Also I cooked this in an aluminum foil pack on the grill.

Figs Oozing with Goat Cheese

Reviewed: May 12, 2006
My family loved this and they are not the type to try things out of the ordinary. I didn't love the flavor of the goat cheese, the next time I made it I used dates and a more expensive brand of goat cheese and it was delicious.

Fragrant Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2005
My family loved this recipe. I doubled the amount of curry and added shredded carrots and sliced zucchini, as well as eliminating the tomatoes. Very versatile, great one dish meal.
